I still have the entirety of High School Musical stuck in my head. One song after another, all the time. And you know what? It is not annoying me yet. I kind of like it. The music is like ma...

I thought that I would be able to write something about how the first couple of shows went. But actually, here's how the first couple of shows went: boring. They were really boring. We sat aro...

I'm attracted to Speedy. Like, for real now. Here are exactly the reasons why, in order from most significant to least significant: (Seriously, sometimes I am just way too easy to figure out.)...

Immaturity - 5/5/2007

Life with my father is going a little shakily. Neither of us is feeling very well, because we haven't been sleeping or eating very well. We are having a hard time with logistics. In addition t...

My mother is in the hospital. My dad called this morning as I was waking up to say that he was at the hospital with her, that they'd taken an ambulance at two in the morning and that my mother w...

I think I am resolving to be less pompous. I think I am resolving this because I am reading the Adrian Mole diaries, and they are depressingly familiar. The real-life level of arrogance in my d...

Breakdown - 4/22/2007

Well, after Molly and Dave showed up at my house wearing matching sweatshirts from the college they're going to, I completely flipped out. I was alright while they were around, but after they le...

Vacation, etc. - 4/14/2007

I never got a response to that email. I guess that this is reasonable. I mean, what did I expect them to say? "Okay, we won't"? For a while I was afraid that Molly and Dave were not talking t...

So It Goes. - 4/14/2007

This weekend, I decided that I was going to find Kurt Vonnegut's address and write to him. I had to tell him what his writing does to my brain. I had to tell him, before he died. That's the wa...

I was unreasonably nervous before jazz night. By "before jazz night" I mean "for the twenty-four hours preceding jazz night." I guess I built it up a lot in my head. I guess I expected it to b...

Well, it is now the fourth term of my senior year. Things I have been doing: Working. Eating. Reading Harry Potter. Watching Harry Potter. Not doing any homework. Practicing, but not practi...

Last Rehearsal - 4/5/2007

Yesterday was my jazz band's last rehearsal. It was pretty warm and fuzzy. Everyone showed up, and we got a fair amount done, and there were some good jokes made, and at the end I handed out th...

We are reading l'Etranger in French. Madame Bellakanovski gives us massive packets to fill out on it, which go page by page and ask questions like, "How long does Mersault wait for the bus?" and...

Tango, etc. - 3/30/2007

For the last week, I have been doing about the same things I have been doing for the last month, only I care less. I have been going to work. They are getting to know me better. Guess what? I...

Mr. Thomas is at a conference. Therefore, we had a substitute for music theory Friday. He said we could do whatever we wanted. So five guitarists and Jack decided to jam, and Bonnie and I went...

I was very nervous before the concert. It wasn't obvious why. At first I thought it was just because of my solo. Then I wondered whether it had something to do with the announcement of drum ma...

Sometimes it just hits me across the face that life is surreal, and I start laughing. I worked for eight hours at the bagel store today. Business was slow and I had had a coffee, so I spent a l...

Friday was a half day for seniors because of course selection, and yesterday was the Berklee jazz festival. This means that within a span of about thirty-six hours, I hung out with Molly and Dav...

Saturday morning I stubbed my toe. It was extremely painful, and it did not stop being extremely painful, and it turned black. So I sort of wimpered pathetically for a while and let my parents ...

Drama - 3/8/2007

So Eric stopped coming to my band's rehearsals. So I had a conversation with him that went, "So, are you ever going to come to rehearsals anymore?" "Um, no." "Oh. Well maybe you shouldn't come ...

My Masterpiece - 3/6/2007

This is a rough draft that I was required to write for my English class. It will be peer edited but (oh god hopefully) not turned in. I think if you read the whole thing, it will be worth it. ...

Things - 3/5/2007

I am in one of those weird moods right now. I spent the whole day at school wondering what was going on. I sort of felt like I was somewhere else. I laughed a lot. I got upset a few times. I...

Book Description

This is where I will repost all of the entries I wrote on Open Diary between the ages of 15 and 18. Please bear with me while I flood the front page with whiney teenage girl entries.

Since I want an accurate record of how I was back then, I’m choosing not to fix my spelling errors. I might, however, edit out some of the entries devoted to surveys, Harry Potter crap, etc.

Here is a picture I drew of myself when I was 18:

And here is a character guide I wrote for my diary just after high school. These are the people I end up talking about the most. WARNING: SPOILERS, if that applies here.
