Marg ⋅ 65

Writing this in 2023, I am divorced with one daughter and three grandchildren - two girls and a boy ages 10, 8 and 4. I’m really lucky to live only half an hour away from them :) I am currently undergoing a horrible protracted withdrawal from Mirtazapine, an anti depressant. I was polydrugged in 2015 and became very ill from them to the point of being bedbound for months. I eventually realised the harm they were causing and came off 2 of them and am now on the last one.

'How can I tell what I think until I see what I say?'

And not in a good way! And that keeping going with the one entry a month is going well so far isn't it?? Most of January was spent mainly trying to catch up with basic stuff - I did get to anot...

I've been trying to get this entry written for weeks now so I'm determined to make some headway with it this evening! December is always such a stressful month because I can't pace in the same w...

Happy New Year everybody first of all! I hope it's a good one for all of us but if it's not, at least we have a safe space to come and write about it! November started off with a visit from my ...

I was watching the film 'One Hour Photo' the other night and Robin Williams as Sy Parrish in one of the voiceovers says "And if these pictures have anything important to say to future generations...

I'm going to have to write differently soon 'cause I'm running out of alliterations for the months! :) So I turned 65 in September - and somehow 65 sounds a lot older than 64😳 I had a lovely bi...

August Offerings in Scottish Meanderings

I'm beginning to get annoyed that I'm having to go back and write about stuff that happened a whole month or more ago - thank goodness for photos on my phone because half the time I can't even re...

Jolly July in Scottish Meanderings

Well no it wasn't very jolly but the flies are all gone I'm glad to report. July saw us on the Big Hop Trail - a series of 40 colourful sculpted hares in locations across the north and north-eas...

Which seems to be a very distant memory right now as it pours with rain outside and has been all day! I've been struggling quite a bit these last few weeks - I'm only active for a few hours in t...

July already - where is this year going! At least we've had some decent days weatherwise but not the very hot temps some places have been having as we always get a nice cool breeze here from bei...

Not really much to report this month - April continued to be very rough so there's been very little done apart from the basics and sometimes these have fallen by the wayside as well so everything...

God I've had a really rough month this last month with this withdrawal and it's really getting me down. Sleep is all over the place - either I don't sleep at all or I have a sedated sleep for 11...

Trying not to listen to the negative voice in my head telling me we're half way through March and I'm already not doing well with my once a month entries this year. I did another cut of Mirtazap...

January Japes in Scottish Meanderings

Right let's see if I can make better progress this year. We started the month off with a trip to town to see the pantomime 'Cinderella'. We still had snow on the ground and the kids had come fr...

I seem to be constantly chasing my tail these days and never getting out of the bit - I'm determined to keep the 'one entry a month' goal going though so here's December's jollies. It seems weir...

I can't stand the thought of not managing to complete the year with an entry for each month so I'm determined to get November's entry in today at least then I might cheat and do a short entry for...

September Sorties in Scottish Meanderings

It's wild weather outside today - 'dreich' as my Dad would have said - a good Scottish word for dreary, bleak, dull or gloomy - it's pouring, the wind's howling, my ancient fence is hanging on li...

A bit late to the party this month due in part to me having a couple of unexpected appointments on the 31st when I'd set aside time to write this and then being Ms. Stupid on Thursday afternoon b...

At the moment I have to say it doesn't feel like a breakthrough - I had a rotten night’s sleep last night and feel a bit sick today so I’m not in the best of moods☹️ And my ancient monitor is fin...

June Japes in Scottish Meanderings

Here I am sliding in at the last minute as usual! No different in health this month - still lots of bad days and very few periods of feeling better. I'm grateful for them when they come though....

I can't believe we're almost half way through the year already - where does the time go?? Healthwise, this month has been much the same as last - ups and downs - lots of frustration but occasion...

So wish I had better news from my end in this month's update but it's just the same - worse if that's possible. Still just ploughing through the days, forcing myself to do stuff just to particip...

So the laugh of the month is the fact that, after shelling out to get my side of my neighbour's hedges trimmed in my last entry, she went and got them dug up 3 weeks later! Could have saved myse...

Problem is, the guy in charge of the sweet April showers in Scotland appears to have forgotten to have switched them off! I got my second vaccination on the 26th and had a similar reaction to th...

It all started with Four posting a video of religious fraternities dancing to Jerusalema which had gone viral - initially in Ireland I believe but then all sorts of workgroups and other groups go...

I’m getting a haircut in a month’s time! Never did I think I would be starting a diary entry with that as the excitement of the month :) Although the question really is whether I'm going to last ...
