Completing the Move

I spent the bulk of this weekend completing my move to my new condo. I'd been moving odds and ends there since I closed a couple of weeks ago, but this was the weekend to really make it habitabl...

Closing

I closed on my condo Friday. It was a hectic day. I had to work late Thursday night, so I could take off Friday to do everything I wanted. I got up shortly before 9, so I could go to my bank a...

Closer to Closing

I was supposed to close on my condo Friday, but I requested some repairs, which the seller agreed to. However, he needed an extra week to make said repairs, hence the delay. I'm taking next Fri...

Things I Love

Regards to .essie. who originated the topic of this entry. I liked her idea, so I decided to try it myself. Finishing a work out - I don't enjoy working out per se, but I love getting to the e...

Office Crush

I'm not sure if the following is a happy benefit of maturing or a sad benefit of being romantically inept. I believe I have a crush on my coworker Galina. Not that anything would ever, ever, ev...

Next Step Forward

I got the condo! The seller took his sweet time responding. Apparently, someone else made an offer of the seller's asking price, but the seller declined because that person wanted too many "con...

Progress

I made an offer on a condo this week. It's a two bed two bath with 1,200 square feet of living space. It's in Alpharetta, about 10 minutes north of my office. It's also been recently remodeled...

A (possible) solution!

I think I’ve figured out my housing conundrum. I’m obviously not going to be able to afford a house I like that isn’t a money pit, so I’ve started looking at condominiums and town houses. I act...

Back to the Drawing Board

I lost the house. I set up a house inspection for yesterday, and man alive did he find problems. The siding needs to be replaced; the roof needs to be reshingled, the pipes need to be refitted,...

A House for my Birthday

As I mentioned in my last entry, I made an offer on that house. The owners countered with an offer half way between my offer and their asking price, and I accepted, so I’m under contract now. I...

Have I found a home?

I'm in the process of making an offer on a house. Specifically, this house. ). I found the house's online listing Thursday night. It had just been posted. I moved quickly to set up a visit w...

I got a new coworker last Monday. Her name is Galina, and she's gorgeous. What's peculiar is that it's not just her physical beauty that's so enchanting; rather it's supplemented with a strange...

Trapped & Guilty

I had my employee evaluation Monday. My manager left me a glowing review for my new boss, John, so I will be getting 100% of my bonus. Yay! In discussing my future at the company, John explain...

Atlanta had another ice storm. Thankfully, it was expected and it occurred overnight, so it didn't bring zombie-apocalypse style traffic. Ironically, the roads are even worse than last time. Th...

Looking for a New Home

I'm really, really getting to a point where I want my own place. I appreciate being able to save so much by living with Johnny, but cabin fever is setting in. I live in a tiny room in the basem...

Surviving Snowmaggedon

Atlanta had what we southerners would consider a severe snow storm last week. At about 1:00pm of Tuesday of last week, our HR manager told us to go home. If I had just done that I would have be...

Missing Open Diary

I feel like my first entry in this diary should be pay respects to my Open Diary. I feel like a friend is dying. Maybe I'm just being silly, but I can't help myself. My OD would have been 13 y...

Book Description

Hello, my name is Rob, or Robbo, if you will. It was a nickname given to me in college by some very close friends. Well, I jumping on the Prosebox bandwagon. For close to 13 years, I had a journal on Open Diary. Sadly, Open Diary is going offline, and I need to find a new diary site to call home, so here I am. I miss Open Diary already; it was such a community. I hope I can find that same kind of environment here. Cheers.
