Ok how do you people in the southern states live with tempratures over 90. Seriously. My poor little Alaskan heart is dying!
Its 9 pm. Its 89 in my house, 81 outside. Alaskans dont have AC. We have sweat boxes. I cant cool off. A shower dosent help! lol. How do you wear clothes? Ive got a pair of shorts and a tunic on. I sweat like disgustingly sweaty. I have to change my shirts because im sweating so bad! Ahh its a mess.
Im sticking to my couch! so hate this feeling lol. Its so gross. I feel bad complaining because we have 8 months of winter. But FFS. I want to be able to enjoy it too! Bring back the mid 70s.
Btw, our mid 70s feels like its 90 when i was in colorado springs. So you can imagine what our 90 feels like lol. 20 degrees hotter haha.
Fuck even the ice cream in the freezer is soft! Come on now.
We drove into the mountains and finally got out of the smoke. But damn, t was still 85 up there and my kids were walking in snow haha. How in the hell was it 85 and the snow wasnt all melted. Seriously!!
I dont get it. yes i have photos haha.
We had premature baby bunnies born yesterday. my mentor friends think the heat did it. She has no instincts. and isnt interested in feeding them. So im having to assist feed them. I will probably look for a foster home here soon. See if some mama can nurse the babies for me and Honey. Seeing shes about as smart as a brick. First time moms can be really dumb. But more so if the heat makes them deliver badly ( over 8 hours, bunny labor is typically an hour!) And unplanned. She had them all cold on the wire. one every few hours. I saved 2 of 5. And only 1 of those 2 is doing well.
Well. Time to help these babies eat!! Fingers crossed for strong babies growing.

oh i love the heat. i'm from co actually and still live there. lived in fl for a bit loved it it was always so warm. it was great. i personally don't use AC. and wouldn't. it's not that i don't get hot. [well. not as hot as most people. i'm a tiny lady.]. it's that. i don't like AC. i don't use fans either. which wire? i'm picturing a bunny on a telephone wire. what you talkin about?

Im a chunker! I get so hot and sweaty. Heck i can do a photoshoot at 20 below zero and come in sopping with sweat. I need to loose about 40 lbs lol.
on the wire, means that she had her babies on the floor of her cage ( ie its wire) rather then making a nest. It happens sometimes with first time moms.
Think like hardware cloth. This wire is 1/2 inch by 1 inch, so their poops go into the tray below their cage and they arent sitting in their potty.
They got a TINY bit of milkies in their bellies. Fingers crossed.

oh! ok. thanks. well i don't know much about having bunnies for pets so. thank you.

Any time! I breed them, and before that i had NEVER owned one. Mine are angoras, raised for their wool which i humanely harvest at their natural shed cycle and spin into yarn :)

i want to go. to alaska. but is the sunlight thing weird for you or are you just used to it? cause yall have different hrs. of sunlight there. in that. half the yr. or something there isn't much. do people there get really depressed due to the lack of sunlight or?

We do KINDA get used to it. Ive lived here my whole life. We put up blackout curtins in summer, and cover windows in winter to help hold warmth.
So right now we have 20ish hours of daylight, Come winter, in December we will have 20 hours of darkness. So we gain and loose 1-5 minutes of light a day depending on the time of year.
People do get SAD, seasonal depression in winter. It can be really hard when its only light between 11 and 4 including twilight hours. Right now its twilight from 11 pm to 3 am then the sun is back up. We are loosing daylight though. Before i know it, it will be setting at 8 and ill wonder where summer went.

I love the heat and sun but it was 95 here yesterday and we went on a “ day trip “ and I opted out of going to the Missouri Botanical Garden ( which I love ) because it was too darn hot and humid . I can not walk long enough to make it worth the $20.00 to get in ; in weather like that . So we went to a winery and sweated on a terrace above the Mississippi River while drinking chilled wine. I still got overheated :-) and felt terrible last night ( sort of heat exhaustion symptoms ) . We were driving a convertible with the top down ( silly people ) . It was fun but you pay a price for being impractical in the heat .
Poor baby bunnies ! I hope the two make it !!

I got formula in them today. Hopefully they make it.

Sounds like a lovely drive!
