It’s an interesting thought . Often I am not sure exactly why I write or why I read , but it’s somehow a link with others that I like .

I guess it comes down to two things - 1) our egos love talking and reading about ourselves and 2) we want connection with others
And we can find both of those through others' writing
I've never really thought about it in the way you wrote it though - definitely interesting.

i will agree with only #2.
the #1 is overly generalization and stereotyping, not everybody is like that.
but that's ok, i make plenty of generalizations and sometimes even stereotyping too,

I write because all I am writing are things that I am afraid to even whisper to any of my friends or family, you guys are strangers like even if you meet me, you would never know that I am the person who wrote all that.
why I read is to never get the feeling that I am the only sad person in this world...

Im of very much the same thought.
Its easy to write to strangers. Perhaps it would be easy to tell friends? I dont know, i dont really have many lol!
