My kid has like these scary hands. His skin peels up in these THICK chunks. I dont mean wide, i mean the layers of skin peeling off are thick. Like callous thick. Its painful and ugly. His hands and feet are. I dont even know.
A doctor told us its just strange peeling, Would eventually go away.
Here we are years later and his hands and feet STILL peel and i mean NON STOP peeling.

So today he made himself a salt and oil scrub. He washed his hands with it, and its helping peel the dead skin off AND leaves his hands feeling softer.
Hes 12 so this is starting to be a cause of emotional termoil for him. Hopefully over the summer this may help!

1-2 cup sea salt crumbs. I dont mean little sprinkles. We got the pink himilayan sea salt that you put in a grinder. Start with 1 cup and add more as needed. We ended up using the entire bottle we got.

1/2 melted coconut oil.

3 pumps aloe vera gel.

10-15 drops of essential oil scent. He decided on vanillla.

Stir till mixed.

IF your salt is oily, add in more chunky sea salt AND kosher salt. We used a coarse ground salt for the second add in. continue adding salt till its moist but not WET.

Store in a lidded container. We stuck it in the kitchen. But you can put it in the fridge.

To use, take a spoonful of crystals and rub between your dry hands. Rub till the salt starts to exfoliate your skin. Use dry, then use warm water to rinse the salt off your hands and enjoy the softness!!

This cost me around 10 bucks to make and my 12 year old did it all himself. He loves his scrub and its just for him :)

Tomorrow we are going to make a lotion to help heal his poor peeling hands.

Have him take D3 3000 units daily . It comes in good tasting gummies and it may help too !

We dont do the gummies really. All my boys can take pills. :)

I hate swallowing pills . I have an exaggerated gag reflex so I have to do Gummies for everything I can. The worst were calcium ; they were gritty ::-( I quit them although I am supposed to take them . Ssssh , I am not telling the doctor . I have chronic iron deficient anemia and pernicious anemia so I have to take iron and B 12 the rest of my life . They don’t know what causes it :-( , so it’s gummies for me :-) . My youngest son had that hand peeling and chronically moist hands ( I forget the medical term ) hydro something. The D3 stopped it . He also had tiny white bumps on his arms , that went away too . Sun exposure ( safe amounts ) is best but D3 is effective too . Good luck to him! Blake was miserable until we got it cleared up .

Interesting. Ill look at that.

My one son is 10, and takes 6 pills a day to manage his health conditions. Hes been taking 2 a day since he was 5 lol. Now we find hes badly allergic to grass like me. and Needs 3 types of allergy meds. So i teach them all young how to swollow pills. I put it in a spoon of ice cream and it goes down. Then i let them have a sip of soda to wash it down. Its a treat so they are willing lol.

Im terribly anemic most of the time. We use cast iron pans and grill a lot of red meat to help with it :) I cant take iron pills. Those will make me vomit!
