Today im spinning wool.
Ive got my sweet little daedalus 3 d printed e spinner and some raw merino. Im spinning in the grease. Its really lovely wool. Super soft and bouncy. Im spinning it dirty because its so very low lanolin and quite clean actually. Its from Austrailia. I really love this fleece. Of course they never listed a second fleece. BUT i did find another one in the USA and just got that in the mail. Still low lanolin but i washed this one. its out drying in the sun.

The nice thing about lanolin in the wool is that its going to be water resistant. The fleece has really tight crimp and beautiful. I have a chocolate on on the wheel and a grey and chocolate one in the drying racks.

I love doing things hand made. I love things being old fashioned and slower… So here I am. listening to some witchy music and enjoying my wheel. Kids are being quiet and enjoying their things. Hubby is on his bike and doing his thing. :) Its a good day.

Just saw this on the front page -- loved reading your description of the wool! I can practically smell and feel it in my hands! (I'm mainly a knitter; I've spun a bit in the past but haven't done it in a while -- but the feeling of a delicious bouncy, sheepy wool is just the best!)

Aww thank you! My wrist starts hurting when i type and i leave so many words unsaid.
but there is something utterly fabulous about this raw merino.
With its sheepish smell, its so deliciously farm like but this fresh quality despite being stored for a couple months in my wool stash.
I actually raise my own herd of angora rabbits, and its my favorite. The silky cloud like fiber just makes you want to sink into a pillow of it! The cloud of angora is so different then the yarn and so much nicer then the stuff you can get in the store!

I enjoy knitting, but im blasted slow! I crochet faster haha. My knitting car project is a cowl im working on with my hand dyed and hand spun! I like to do all of the yarny things!

I love the look of that wool ! What are you going to make with it ?
Angora bunnies ? That is right up my alley !! I love rabbits and they are so useful for their fur but you don’t have to harm them . It must be a lot of work grooming them every day though . I have read about it but now I will you tube it :-) We had a tiny dwarf Lop for eight years , “ Zoey” , who we dearly loved. What a good pet she was ! I would love to have another rabbit someday but for now we have three dogs and two cats so they would not be very safe for a rabbit . :-(
I crochet . Blankets .dishcloths . It’s a very meditative thing for me rather than about making things that are useful but I do use the throws and cloths . The one I am working on now I miscalculated the size somehow and it’s going to be big enough to cover a king size bed :-) I love picking the yarn colors.
This entry sounds so serene. Enjoy all those moments !

I will ply it back on itself for a typical two ply hand spun. Perhaps a hat for my husband for when he is outside. He loves my angora hat but he didnt like how tight it ended up being. So i owe him a new hat before it hits 20 below zero again haha.

I actually have 2 dogs. and had 3 cats. My angoras are my babies and do really well with dogs. Its a matter of teaching the dog that the bunnies are "alphas" or in charge. It also helps if you dont have a husky. Their prey drive is too high. However all my buns live in cages and hutches outside full time. They only come inside when one of my kids brings a baby in.

I have 20 adults and 15 babies currently. I breed them.
I dont groom daily! I only do weekly at most lol. and only when they have more then 2 inches of wool on them. They really dont need it more often. It thins their coat any more often and reduces your "harvest"

I actually have a girl coming up on being long enough to harvest. Shes super hot and sad right now, but she should go another month before she is sheared. I may shear her anyway, but her wool will only be about 2.5ish inches long.

I love crocheting, But mostly i make hats and shawls. I get bored when my shawl is long and can never quite finish a blanket haha. I get bored before that! Ive started baby blankets for all my 5 kids And the only one i finished was 30 X 30. and beautiful. Then it was left in a park. I cried.
