So I have been in Washington for about three weeks now and I absolutely love it. Unfortunately, it has been hell trying to find a job. The job I was hoping to get at the new restaurant opening up down the street from my apartment totally fell through. I have been doing everything I can to find something. I have filled out so many online applications that if I have to do another one of those ridiculous personality surveys that take way too long to complete, I am going to scream. I have been stalking the job ads on craigslist, speaking with managers, driving up and down the five and almost having a nervous breakdown. But besides that huge bubble of stress, I have been trying my best to enjoy all of this free time I have. I met an -amazing- guy named Dave and we are already in an exclusive relationship. I absolutely adore him! If it wasn't for him, I think I would be having a way harder time with adjusting to all the changes and wouldn't be having the best of times. But being with him is wonderful! We have so much fun together and he really makes sure I am taken care of and happy. My roommate is very sweet, but her and Kurt broke up so she was acting a bit crazy for awhile there. She joined Match dot com and met some other dude though and is now in a relationship with him so she is happy again and things have calmed down. I joined a few meet ups and met some cool nerds who like to play board games every Sunday as well as some poetry enthusiasts that I will be meeting up with to talk about various poetry forms. Living in Washington is everything I could have ever hoped for and as soon as I find a job, I know I will be able to 100% enjoy everything going on! I will also have MONEY to do things. Having a job is my number one priority so I sadly have to put school on the back burner and cannot attend Evergreen like I had hoped. But it is probably for the best, as I am not a resident of WA for a whole year and would like to stay out of as much debt as possible. Out of state resident fees are horrendous, so I think I am making a wise choice of deciding to work full time instead and save school for when I am a resident of the state and in a better situation financially speaking. I might have some luck in getting a job at a call center, I have an interview on Monday, so let's keep our fingers crossed here!!
