Umm... in meh...

I think someone just slick mouthed about me to other people in my face because I have questions about our new clock in system.

I’ve said it before, I hate this shit. I am a bare minimalist. I was fine putting in my hours on a time sheet and call it that. No extras, just what it is.

With this system you have to be precise and sometimes, I admit, I just don’t pay attention. I will have the thing open on my computer and will be sitting here at 8:20 even though I get in way earlier than that, and then I’ll get distracted and totally forget. Today it was by 8 minutes. Then I try to rectify this at lunch. go to lunch at 12:00 and clock back in at 12:52. I think I was late going to lunch. But regardless, the time always looks like I’m shorted once you take away the hour for my lunch. Like the first pay period my total hours were supposed to be 75 but it was 74 and some change.

The HR people that handle that just had a meeting in the conference room off the lobby. As they came out, I saw one person look at me and then another guy waved “bye” . Then they all stopped at the door about to part ways when I hear, “you just need to adjust your timesheet. I got emails about it…“

I usually don’t listen to them, but I know that I’ve recently had issues with my time sheet and have asked my boss and supervisor about it. I’ve followed the proper protocol and asked the questions I need to ask so don’t get snippy with me, about me. I’m sure I’m not the only one messing up with this. You just concentrate on resourcing the damn humans in this place.

Now I’m going to be looking at her sideways for 2 weeks…

I do payroll for the Sweatshop and here they do a thing with 15 minute increments and if you clock in 7-1/2 minutes late, you get docked until the next quarter hour. So if you clock in at 8:08, you will only get paid from 8:15 on. Next time you miss and you want to make it up, try to make sure you account for that 7-1/2 minute thing and clock in before 12:45. It's unfortunately how a lot of companies do it. Hope that helps.

Wow.

Yeah it sucks. Just trying to explain how a lot of places do things. Don't know if your company does, but that's how to test it. Then you'd know, or if not, you'd have something to take to management to show that you're getting shorted.

Another reason I like being my own boss.

If only I could just quit this job and be okay which I know I won't be so I stay. ::smh:: vicious circle.
