Sometimes I think I love my job
Sometimes I think I hate my job
I guess we’ll see how I feel tomorrow when pay day comes around.
Sometimes I want to write happy music
(Why the fuck can’t I just write happy music?)
I want to write about love without tragedy…growth without overcoming…life without death…you know. Just the major chords.
Today I read an article where they fed AI thousands of images of psychedelic art and it came out with what is…the closest damn thing I’ve ever seen to machine elves without actually being on DMT. And everyone is like, “WOW THIS IS WHAT I SEE ON DMT”
I’m like, “Okay, so what I consider to be the purest spiritual experience has now been co-opted by artificial intelligence…so what the fuck does that make the experience?”
Music, art, now spirituality…all created with “artificial” intelligence.
So…are we just AI then?
Is this not even a simulation?
Are we just literally bio-computers?
I mean, it makes sense. This muscle tissue is just a conductor, right? We run on electricity, right? Our brains are basically just receivers…our veins are just wires…fuck.
Or maybe…maybe what you see on DMT is the final layer of the simulation before you break free?
That could be it.
I’ve spoken with two other people who have had similar experiences on DMT where they “woke up” in another place, in another body, with several beings surprised like, “They’re not supposed to be awake yet…this is all wrong, put them back in.”
So maybe AI has just…reached the god level of software?
Maybe when you smoke DMT you are just scrambling your circuits and disrupting the simulation feed?
I don’t know.
I don’t like it.

So…you know, it’s probably a good idea to fuck with AI
I’m sure it’s fine.

Howdy Dane:-) I have always found the idea that we are one massive science experiment amusing and intriguing at the same time. It is intriguing the question of why can we not write wonderful happy crap like ... SHINY HAPPY PEOPLE but instead go for darkness and melodrama? Maybe for the same reason we choose to slow down to look at an accident and find laughing happy people annoying. Interesting ideas.

That is definitely an interesting idea...even Shiny Happy People has layers of sarcasm draped over it. It's strange how humans crave conflict and drama yet the only thing we strive for is peace...or maybe that's not the only thing we strive for? In my profession it's constant learning and growing...maybe I do strive for the challenge. Maybe we inherently understand that stagnation is death.
