When my eyes left the ground all the pedestals I put you on finally came crashing down
And I’m not sure if the weight that lifted was my shackles coming off or the feeling of your loss
My mind reels and the thought swirls, when does love become hate, and too soon become too late
Torn apart by a disease, a girl, a breeze
Bond formed in steel, snaps like a tree
How easy it must have been to turn your back
Which is apparently a luxury I didn’t have
A one sided coin faded to dust
And your damned marble statue hadn’t even started to rust
But To dust I returned, and from dust I rise
Never so heavy had been my eyes
but
When my eyes left the ground, all the pedestals I put you on finally came crashing down
