That’s me wallowing in the sun yesterday. Fasting bloodwork at 0800, lunch out by the water with food from a taco shop, an afternoon book and nap in the shade of the Scripps-Mercy hospital parking lot, and home again to read and exercise in the comfort of my chair.

I feel so much better these days that I feel guilty when G makes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He brings coffee and yogurt upstairs for me at dawn, often he makes a half sandwich for lunch, and he’s very inventive about dinners.

“Can I help” I call.

“No, I got it,” He always replies.

Today he is off to the pool, and I get to mutter to you all.

The money here is his. I bring in a pittance in SS. He suggested two days ago that I get a Kindle. I’m the only member of this family that still reads hardcover books. (They do feel good in the hand.) So we looked online and found that only one Target still carried the larger 10 inch Kindles. Off we went, and home we came to download and read my first volume. And the second, and the third. I can share these titles with my bookworm daughter and granddaughter too. Yes, I am laughing.

It’s been a wonderful adventure for this bookworm.

  • Himself: Swim, space games, lunch, space, and dinner.
  • Myself: Write, put laundry away, read blogs, read book.
  • Reading: Linda Castillo…I missed this one. The Penric and Desdemona series by Bujold.
  • Watching: Olympics
  • Photo: Mine and recently.
  • Weather: 75 degrees and maybe showers.
  • Gratitude’s: Bujold.

I live on my kindle tablet. Mom has one, too. Being able to share books is great.

I simply love the simple and straightforward way you organize your diary pages, Madge and don't you have a wonderful partner? For sure. My days are pretty boring to write about and you are out and doing new things. However, both of us are happy so all is ok. Enjoy your Kindle. I love finding books out of print on mine now and them...have spent all summer with the novels, bio, and bio of his publisher...of course I'm talking about Thomas Wolfe. Perhaps I'll never read him again but finally I think I know what he was trying to do in his novels.

I get the same response from T when I ask 'can I help'?!
I see the seal (or is it a sea lion?)

Congratulations on your first Kindle! I hope you have many hours of enjoyment from it :)

I love my Kindle because I can read it in the dark. Look for the nightshade, so the blue light doesn't disturb your sleep. Lately I've been watching a couple, Nils and Bianca on YouTube dancing lindy hop and boogie woogie. I enjoy their energy vicariously. My JH has the same kind vocabulary as your George-I always offer and he's always got it. Aren't we lucky?

I enjoy my Kindle, but I also like a book in the hand, too. I love how they feel.

One of my big beefs about electronic readers is that the books can't be shared with many people so I'm glad to hear your daughter and granddaughter can share what you buy. Great photo...the seal is in bliss.

I do like my Kindle but rarely read the several hundred books in my library. But it’s nice to jnow they are there!😀

There is still nothing like a hardcover book to hold and read!
