My Trumpeter Cousin who has been aggressively promoting the President’s bullshit conspiracies about COVID-19. He just said, “Trump should cancel the 2020 election due to Coronavirus. THEN the cure would be available overnight! Fucking Libs!”
And I’m just… WHAT?! WHAT?!
I mean… religiously following Trump with the passionate ignorance of a Cultist is bad enough. But behaving as though a pandemic that has literally shut down all of Italy… has closed Broadway… has cancelled the NCAA Basketball tournament… has closed Disneyland for the fourth time EVER… is threatening to close down Heathrow… is threatening to cancel the Olympics… yeah… THAT is a liberal conspiracy to make the President look bad
I don’t even… I can’t… this is a voting adult that is raising children! And… he’s not alone. There are (allegedly) almost 60 million Americans like this. I cannot understand in ANY WAY any sane or rational person being so… worshipful of ANY politician… let alone one as arrogant, ignorant, and dangerous as Trump. Shit like this really makes me worry for my country and my species.

It's really hard to understand. Perhaps if this wasn't a world wide event it might be a tiny bit easier to understand where they are coming from. Man, they really think those liberals are all powerful, don't they? If that were the case, though, Donald Trump wouldn't be president!

I totally agree with you on that last paragraph. It terrifies me to realize how many people out there blindly follow this dangerous, vile person. It's like a cult.

What's really gobsmacking about Trumpeter attitudes is that the coronavirus has exposed literally every single way in which Trump is completely unfit: He's lied about how bad it is. He refused to let the CDC release testing kits. He dismantled the pandemic boards that Obama put in place, just because Obama put it there. We have no guarantee that people who are forced out of work via closures will receive a paycheck while their place of business is shut down. Almost 30 million Americans have no health insurance, and those who do have it may still have to pay a ridiculous premium to get tested. He lied about the number of people who have it, and about how well the testing is going (how the f can we test for coronavirus IF WE DON'T HAVE THE EFFING TESTS?!). He lied about how soon we could develop a vaccine.
Like, for real: This is the man behind the curtain, and he's in no way fit or sane enough to get us through this.
But, there is a silver lining: He was just at Mar-a-Lago, meeting with Jair Bolsonaro, who tested positive for COVID-19 (although he says he didn't, but seeing as Bolsonaro is basically Brazil's version of Trump, I think we can safely assume he's lying). Pence was there, too. There's hope yet.

People on my fb are claiming it’s a conspiracy for the government to have more control over us. But I don’t think any government is happy about this at all
