So about around the time I got a facebook account, I became friends with a guy who lived in Indiana named Garrett who started a Albert Camus forum. He started talking to me and every now and then we have random intellectual conversations. Well about a month or so ago he was having major family issues and decided to take his name off of the family lineage at the Morman church or something and his family went crazy and basically told him if he wasn't a part of the family religion he wasn't a part of the family. Now Garrett has always been a little off. I guess he is autistic and I actually had him and Arman become friends on FB because I figured Arman's blogs might help him. Well I have been worried about him because he started posting all these things on FB and not making any sense. Then he would say he was in random places around the country. Well then he posted a picture of him in SF and said he was moving North. He went to Humbolt and Arcata and then up the Oregon coast. I told him to contact me if he ended up in Oly/Lacey area. Well the other day he facebook messaged me that he had just got off the train in Lacey. I told him I would come meet him so he messaged me back saying he did not have a phone but to find him at Occupy in Downtown. I really didn't think I'd be able to find him since there are a ton of people in tents and such there. I parked my car and as soon as I got out I saw him from across the field. It was a unique experience hanging out with him because he is a very smart, but strange guy. One thing I noticed was he talked about being an extraterrestrial a lot, which is odd because when I'd talk to Arman he would say the same types of things. He said he felt like he was not of this world and that he was from a world out of this universe. Arman used to say the same things, and Arman used to say he actually had contact with aliens when he was younger. I don't think much of it, I just like to listen to people and their stories because I know they honestly believe these things which is what I find most interesting. I took Garrett out to some Indian food because he has been living off of Ramen and I knew he was starving. I made sure he had plenty of leftovers. He worries me because he told me he felt like ending his life and took a bunch of pills and was taken to the hospital. A lot of the time I don't know if he is telling the truth or actually believes he is telling the truth. A lot of things he says sounds like lies. I basically listened to him talk about his family and express his feelings and made sure he knew I didn't judge him for what he was saying to me. He was a nice guy, I just am worried about him. He has no plans and says money gives him anxiety. He basically is going to try to sneak over the border and settle in BC. He doesn't have any money and is relying on people's kindness. He doesn't have a passport either so I am worried he is going to get caught trying to get over the border or something. He tends to ramble on about weird things and if I didn't know him, I would think he was on drugs. I really think he needs some counseling and some serious medication because something is really wrong with his thought process. But he doesn't trust government, doctors, money, anything but himself. I really do hope he finds somewhere he belongs and is safe and happy.
