January 14th, 2011 in "Waiting for my Petrichor"

Three more days of my life in California and I have so many people I need to see one last time before I depart. I said goodbye to Brindle and dropped off some DVDs and stuff for her and Sophie. I am going to miss Sophie so much. She is probably the only kid I know that I actually like and when I come back she is going to be all grown up! Brindle and Gary are doing really bad right now, but I hope they can fix things for the kid's sake. I also stopped by Gary's and said goodbye to him and Dusty and they were surprised that I am actually going to do this and that I am leaving so soon. Then I went over to Daniel's who I have not seen since he got out of jail. He is still the same old Daniel, and still getting into shitty things so I hope he can grow up and get his act together soon. I hung out with Eddie yesterday and that was kind of hard saying bye to him. He was my first "real" relationship and we were together for three years and lived together in our own apartment for awhile. Even though our relationship didn't work out, he turned into a big brother to me and once he got a new girlfriend, we barely saw each other anymore. We had a good talk about the past and he was sad that he is probably never going to see Jasper again (it was kind of "our" dog) either. But of course he had to leave early because his stupid girlfriend wanted him back home, even though it was probably the last time I was going to be seeing him. As for the big move, I am just going to pack up my car with everything that I can fit in there and leave early Monday morning. I was sad that I have to leave my bed, but lucked out and some guy was giving a bed away for free and I called him up to get the details of the bed, etc. Turns out the church donated it to his friend but his friend had to be moved to an assisted living center so he wanted to give the bed to someone in need. PLUS he was able to deliver it to my apartment, so it is already there waiting for me! Holly sent me pictures of our apartment and it is seriously so roomy and cute! I love it! All I have been doing is thinking of what I am going to do when I get there. I have bay windows so I am just going to get a shower pole and put it across and then drape my two black curtains over it and tie them back during the day. I also want to use that space for when I do my homework because outside is a view of a bunch of trees and it is beautiful! I also bought a shower curtain and I just need to get some baths rugs when I get up there. First thing is first though, finding a job. I am HOPING I can get hired at this new restaurant opening up that is only six minutes from my place! Since it is brand new they are hiring a full staff so as soon as I get into town I am heading up there to fill out an application. I have even been practicing my "bubbly/happy" speech I am going to give to them when I get there. I seriously need this job so much!!!!! Today I picked up my check at the golf course and said goodbye to Dolores and Megan. At four I am going to hang out with Arman and give his book back to him, and then tonight hopefully kicking it with Jamie and Armen and perhaps Andrea and Tyler! Tomorrow I am going to see my grandma and get Jack's number from her so I can stay with him on my drive up. I bought Jasper a travel carrier so I don't have to worry about him jumping around in the car while we make the long drive. Everything is pretty much coming into place and I am so excited to just BE there already and start getting things together in regards to work and school!
