I was lucky to have access to quite a few indie films on our flight back from Europe last August. I am only now able to write (briefly) about them. This was one of my favorite films, along with ...

I feel lucky to have seen this film. It was on many top 10 lists last year but was not widely accessible. Indian film full of grace and light and longing.

One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Goodness, I love architecture with movies. And the score….. I could gush.

It was not weird enough. I felt like this movie was trying to portray a message, but… it didn’t go far enough.

Journaling in Random Thoughts

How does my body feel today? Physically- I am sore, leftover from the intensive weeding I did. It put my body back a little in it’s progress. My right hip is sore in a different spot than usual,...

unknown in Random Thoughts

I do not know why I feel so much grief about being excessed from my job. I knew it was going to be a possibility at some point. Also, I think it’s hard for me to hold two different emotions at t...

I know people adore Singing in the Rain, it is considered, by some, to be one of the best movies ever.... But I loved The Umbrellas of Cherbourg..... possibly because I am melancholy at heart....

I’ve heard this is one of the best movies of all time. I did enjoy it, but expected more singing and dancing in the beginning! I guess I was thinking of a stage musical where all words are sung....

The ending tore me open

I love this film. Death as a parrot. Julia Louis Dreyfus is amazing

How to process in Random Thoughts

Last night my little one hit her head, not very hard at all.... and seemed to have a seizure. We rose in an ambulance to a local children’s er. They say it could be a concussion.... she seemed t...

You know what i loved about this one? My 4 year old wanted to watch it a second time. Miazaki seems to have gotten weirder in this one, which is great!

I meant to watch this one a long time ago, knowing I would love it. I saw it somewhere over the Atlantic or Greenland as I was enroute from Dublin to Vancouver BR

If you love dark comedy and satire, please watch this! I wouldn’t say it is like Heathers, but it has that over-the-top quality about it. This movie is a little like Barbie in that it is communic...

I finally remember my first indie film of 2024! Showing Up, by Kelly Reichart. I loooooove Kelly Reichart. Recently i caught up with a previous film, Certain Women. OMG I loooooooved that one too...

I can’t remember what my first film was for this year! Turns out I’ve seen (and reviewed) this director’s (Andrew Haigh) previous two films, 45 and Lean on Pete. I loooooved Lean on Pete. This o...

I watched the Wes Anderson Shorts on Netflix a while back. Unfortunately I had a headache or a long day at work (either listening to talking, talking, or working on my computer- all of which are...

I know it’s not an indie film, but I’ve been watching Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig movies for years. I purposefully didn’t really know anything about this movie before I went into it and I foun...

In the vein of Christopher Guest (this is Spinal Tap, a mighty wind, etc.), theater camp is a delightful comedy for all of us drama freaks.
