We seem in be in the middle of our annual week-long freak snow storm that we get once a year in the lowlands. I worked from home yesterday, and I’m working from home again today. Its slightly annoying that both of my coworkers absolutely insist on being in the office themselves. I guess I’ve worked on my people-pleasing enough so that I just don’t care. I’m getting all of my work done from here just fine. Also, I thought I proved a few months ago that they are absolutely terrified of losing any of us, so job security shouldn’t even be a concern for them.

Anywho! Things with The Young One are going well. I’d love nothing more than to just dive into this head-on and make things official and call him my boyfriend and spend as much time as possible with him in the next two weeks, but I have to put in a concerted effort to remind myself to “take it one day at a time and enjoy the moments in the present.” That’s my goal. My heart is over here like “This super attractive young buck is totally into you, and I don’t know why, but don’t let him change his mind!”

He came over Monday night. He is not/was not a virgin (Phew!). We got drunk, made long passionate sex and then passed out. He spent the night. Totally went from a completely honest G-rated first date hike (without any kissing even!) to THAT in 48 hours. It was a heck of a lot easier to “just take things one day at a time” before I knew of his…capabilities. Sigh.

Not sure if I mentioned it already, but he’s leaving for a 4 month deployment at the end of January. He’ll be back at the end of April. Such horrible timing. He has “duty” (where he has to stay on his boat for 24 hrs) every 3 days. So its regular work day for 2 days, 24 hr duty day, regular work day for 2 days, 24 hr duty day, etc etc. So I don’t even have many opportunities to see him from now until the end of the month. He has duty today. Maybe I’ll see him again tomorrow or the next day.

I wish I knew he was into me a lot sooner. I seriously had no idea. Call me Ms. Oblivious.
