Hey. Remember a couple weeks before we stopped talking and you came to my spot to pick up the rest of your clothes? I tried so hard to keep calm. Every time I saw you, I could see that there was just no more love for me…and it hurt like hell. You could see the depressed look on my face before you pulled away. You rolled your window down and asked me if I was okay. “I have my good and bad days”, I said. It’s well over a year now, and today is a bad day…

Since the day you left, I have filled my playlist with sad songs and I listen to all of them on repeat. Each word…reminds me of you. Yesterday, I heard this new song that came out by Alicia Moffet. It’s called ‘Beautiful Scars’. It’s about moving on…even though you still feel strong for the person who left you. To me…the best part of the whole song is the chorus:

‘Cause all you left
Was a beautiful scar
But it’s enough
To feel light in the dark

I hope you’re there
If heaven’s a real place
I hope you’re there
And you’re better now
And that it’s everything you thought it would be
I guess all I want you to know
Is that it’s hard but I’m letting you go
It’s not fair
Take Care’

It means a lot because you know I was never really religious. I have always been more of a man of science. But if heaven is real, I hope to see you there. Because heaven is supposed to be paradise. Regardless if we were arguing or having the time of our lives....you were, and always will be my paradise…And I will always hope to feel that again…with you.
