the irony of the E-Z Pass program
supposedly making all of these
highway miles less of a hassle
a line of three tractor-trailers
in their dedicated convenience lane
with automation delay only to blame
inside of their idling road castles
the drivers sit waiting for ease
while I in my tiny station wagon
claim my ticket from human hands
and keep moving on to the trees

that E-Z pass thing only makes sense in places around cities like Chicago where there are a butt-load of routes to take and tolls all over the place.
