Better in 2019 Amazing Stories!

I officially got my (and my coworker’s) effective dates for our raises. They are effective 09/16 (10 days ago), so I think I did light an “oh shit!” fire under their asses for them to back date it like that. Also, they ordered me a brand new super expensive laptop and 2 gigantic monitors and told me to keep my old laptop and old monitors and take them home to have. There is still no clause that says “you must work XX amount of days with this company in order for you to get this raise”, so my PTO balance now officially sits at the higher pay out rate and there it will stay. Things have been returning to how they were before the entire K lay off/suspicious job ad/head injury saga. M is doing his normal workload. I am doing mine. A is doing hers. Worst case scenario is that changes in a few months, and I do quit. Now that I have working station for home (didn’t actually have a working laptop at home - i’ve been using my phone for literally everything), it will be much easier to apply for all the jobs.
