I do enough... in Can winter just be over?? (Jan-March 2014)

Having been to Africa, I realize now more than ever just how fast-paced and stressful our life in North America is. And all this pressure on us to DO more, BE more... Adults and kids alike. Kids need to be MORE active, MORE educated... Meanwhile adults are expected to do it all- work, have a social life, be active, be good parents... it's exhausting!! I don't even work full-time and I have a hard time keeping up. Being a single parent, I'm expected to do it all: schedule and bring the kids to all their appointments; help them with homework; read and play with them; take the kids to birthday parties and outings; put them in sports and extra-curricular activities; bring them to church and teach them morals and Christian values; cook, clean, pay the bills, and all those mommy duties... As I write, I've had to get up three times now to check on dinner and had to pause a few times to answer my three-year-old's questions. It just never ends! Apart from my mommy duties, I ...am a parent support worker ...volunteer as secretary for a non-profit organization ...attend a women's Bible Study weekly ...and attempt to have a social life by meeting for coffee/having girls' nights with some friends.

I was complaining yesterday about not having much 'direction' in my life... but I do enough! Why the heck am I complaining?! LOL

Dinner is ready. Gotta rush off to feed the tiny humans now. Rush rush rush. Sometimes I wish I were back in Rwanda...

Good night all :)
