Oh man. It is still early morning hours here and I’m already sick of dealing with people. Granted… 4 hours of sleep doesn’t help that.

I have to confess that is something that worries me right there. My APAP wants to and is designed to get readings of 7 hours or more. But I don’t average 7 hours of sleep. From an article from Forbes Magazine printed in August 2017: “Americans aren’t spending enough time snoozing. In 2013 (the last year measured by Gallup), the average American slept 6.8 hours a night—with 40 percent banking less than six hours. The nation hasn’t always been this sleep-deprived: Back in 1910, people slept an average of nine hours per night.” So… the fact that my readings are “average for Americans or below average” is… problematic. What they look like right now
Night 1: 2 hours, break, 3 hours
Night 2: 1.8 hours, break, 2 hours
Night 3: 7.4 hours
Night 4: 5.9 hours
Night 5: 3.8 hours

Grump. Though… it brings to mind another thing.... part of the reason I’ve been diagnosed with Firbomyalgia… part of the reason I have this APAP to begin with… is trouble sleeping. The idea that my Insurance Company might punish me financially for not “getting enough sleep for appropriate APAP readings” seems like a giant scam meant to financially disadvantage the unhealthy.

So I wake up. Go to the basement. Play an hour of video games. Find myself getting distracted. Make the strange choice to do what I used to do when I was at my most lonely in Tiny Town and/or before. Now… this is genuinely psychologically interesting… or terrifying… or weird… so I am totally open to Academic Perspectives on this (not emotional perspectives). What I did/do is.... I que up some super long Ohmibod Cam video. Ohmibod is a form of “remote vibrator” often used by CamGirls to promote tipping and financial gain. Essentially, it is a sex toy inserted into the girl that buzzes and/or ‘activates’ based on commands from the computer. Often these videos result in multiple orgasms for the female (real or faked) and/or long drawn out moaning. After reaching orgasm myself, I tend to let the videos continue and… here’s where it is strange.... I find the orgasmic noises soothing… they help me fall asleep and/or feel more relaxed. As one might listen to Zen Music, when I am at my most lonely, the sounds of a woman reaching pleasure does for me. That’s weird, right? Like… that’s a strange “soothing music” kind of thing??

Woke up, put fresh food and fresh water in the dog’s bowl. Took the dog out. She was… super good this morning. Like… she wasn’t sure about the colder weather… went outside… peed… came back in the house but before I could close the door, she went back outside. I was like, “Okay… kind of strange.” But then she pooped. Like… she had the conscious state of mind frame of reference to think “I am inside and need to poop, I should go outside and poop there.” Good girl! Then she just laid down on the living room floor. I told her that if she came back to the bedroom, I could put her on the bed so that she could sleep with Mamma. She came back to the bedroom, but immediately walked over to her little dog bed, curled up into a ball, and fell fast asleep. She’s really getting the hang of things!!

POLITICS SECTION SKIP IF DESIRED

Meanwhile… OH MY FUCKING ZOMBIE JESUS! My pro-Trump family and pro-Trump colleagues are… just… so fucking stupid. Like willfully ignorant and celebrating that fact!! I can tell you with confidence that they have not read the Mueller report but they sure as shit watched Barr’s speech. And they’re all doing a jig at how “Now that the full report is out, the libtards can shut the fuck up because they know Trump did nothing wrong.”
You.
Fucking.
Idiots.
I’m not going to spend a long time on this. I know full well no matter what is said or done, nobody will change their mind. We no longer live in a world where facts, truth, ethics, justice, or morals matter to anyone. Let’s take a moment of silence for the death of The Rational.

Now… what did yesterday actually show us?

Even the people on Fox News stated “Bill Barr is acting and sounding more like a Defense Lawyer for the President.” For those of you who may not know… THAT IS NOT THE ATTORNEY GENERAL’S JOB. The Attorney General of the United States is the principal legal officer who represents a country in legal proceedings and gives legal advice to the government. IN SHORT, Bill Barr is to represent THE COUNTRY and act as CHIEF PROSECUTOR in such cases where that role may need to be filled. Bill Barr acting like The President’s Defense Lawyer is unethical, outside the scope of his office, and a dubious dereliction of duty. If I as a Government Attorney were to appear to be acting as a Government Officials personal defense attorney? The Board of Supervisors would demand my resignation. And they would be entitled to it because as the Government’s Attorney, since I am in a Full Time Position I am not allowed to take on any private clients nor act as any individuals counsel.

What’s more… a few highlights of the report… despite Trumpists acting like it is God’s Word Sent Down to Exonerate Trump:

Even Trump thought he’d be found guilty of something! That is stated in the report. Not collusion necessarily; but Trump is well aware of his own past where he did willfully and knowingly engage in criminal enterprises. LUCKY FOR HIM Robert Mueller is a man of ethics and, despite having access and opportunity to PROVE that past Criminal Activity… Mueller kept the report and investigation limited to strictly that which he was charged to do. Now, the Southern District of New York may be coming for Trump at some point… but Mueller acted with extreme ethics and strict focus… despite Trump and Trumpists calling him a Liberal Stooge, an Unethical Liberal Plant, and all manner of bullshit inappropriate things.

President Trump Repeatedly attempted to get Mueller fired. You know what might have screamed Obstruction of justice? TERMINATING THE INVESTIGATION. Luckily for Trump, there were still a few adults in the room who refused to carry out his very illegal orders.
Trump is now absolutely fuming with anger at those people. What? These people disobeyed you, thereby preventing you from committing a crime, and you’re now mad at them? Fucking imbecile. That’s like telling your best friend to poison your wife; them not poisoning your wife; the police investigating an attempted poisoning of your wife to conclude that no crime occurred; then being mad at your friend for not poisoning your wife!! Idiota.

The Russia Issues were FAR from hoaxes and were at a minimum problematic. Pursuant to the laws of the United States, if a foreign government approaches you and offers any assistance to your campaign, you are required to inform the FBI so that the Federal Government can be protected from hostile foreign involvement in elections. REQUIRED. However, because Trump refused to separate his business and political interests the investigation concluded that there was insufficient evidence to conclude that it was collusion. In other words, Trump and Russia are so buddy-buddy financially, we couldn’t definitively state Trump’s people knew there was political issue. So… what was proved was: Russia was trying REAL hard to get Trump in bed with them; but Trump’s people never took the bait because they thought they were already in bed with them. DIRECT QUOTE FROM THE REPORT: “The Russian contacts consisted of business connections, offers of assistance to the campaign, invitations for candidate Trump and [Russian President Vladimir] Putin to meet in person, invitations for campaign officials and representatives of the Russian government to meet, and policy positions seeking improved US-Russian relations.

Here is another area where Bill Barr acted as DEFENSE ATTORNEY and improperly abused his powers as Attorney General (he should so be fired). Bill Barr claimed that HE had the power to decide whether Obstruction Charges were to be applied; and Bill Barr claimed that obstruction charges were not warranted BASED ON THE EVIDENCE and not based on the Justice Department Policy of 1970. Except that the report specifically and expressly states the exact fucking opposite of both of those things! Mueller specifically stated that the Justice Department Policy is why he, as merely an investigator, could not definitively state there should be a prosecution on obstruction. IN THE VERY NEXT SENTENCE, Mueller does NOT state that Bill Barr gets final say but instead writes the following: “Congress may apply the obstruction laws to the President’s corrupt exercise of the powers of office accords with our constitutional system of checks and balances and the principle that no person is above the law.” Meaning CONGRESS not Bill Barr gets to make the final decision.

What I find most humorous… as a win for Russia and loss for the US… is how the report handled Trump’s open and direct collusion on television. Trump asked Russia to hack his political opponent on National Television. THAT DAY Russia attempted to hack Trump’s political opponent. Mueller found that this was not sufficient to meet the legal definition of the crime of collusion (and he’s right) because at the time, there was no tacit agreement between the parties. Legally tricky, but legally accurate. If I go on television and I say, “I hope something awful happens to Ashanti Douglas today!” and someone kneecaps Ashanti an hour after I say that… there was no agreement formed. IN OTHER WORDS: We have a President who cares SO LITTLE about our country and our democracy; that he was gleefully encouraging a hostile foreign power to attack our country (technically)… but it isn’t illegal because he had no way of being sure that they would do it.

As to obstruction, again? Oh. My. Good. Freaking. Daffodil! The report details multiple times that The President attempted active criminal obstruction of justice BUT… it never happened because (unlike Private Business Trump) President Trump was surrounded by people that didn’t want to go to jail! DIRECT QUOTE FROM THE REPORT: “”The President’s efforts to influence the investigation were mostly unsuccessful, but that is largely because the persons who surrounded the President declined to carry out orders or accede to his requests. Comey did not end the investigation of Flynn, which ultimately resulted in Flynn’s prosecution and conviction for lying to the FBI. McGahn did not tell the Acting Attorney General that the Special Counsel must be removed, but was instead prepared to resign over the President’s order. Lewandowski and Dearborn did not deliver the President’s message to Sessions that he should confine the Russia investigation to future election meddling only. And McGahn refused to recede from his recollections about events surrounding the President’s direction to have the Special Counsel removed, despite the President’s multiple demands that he do so. Consistent with that pattern, the evidence we obtained would not support potential obstruction charges against the President’s aides and associates beyond those already filed.”” But… of course… Trump is an inconsistent, deranged, turd burglar. During Michael Cohen’s legal trouble… Trump told his attorney to do something illegal; Cohen did the illegal thing; Trump demands that he can’t be held responsible because his attorney should know not to break the law. Except now that Trump knows McGahn refused to break the law; Trump is fumingly, furiously, pissed at McGahn. Or rump told his attorney to do something illegal; his attorney said no; Trump is furious with his attorney.

Lastly, as a nice little cherry on top… the Report discusses the HIGHLY illegal meeting the Trump Campaign had with Russian Foreign Agents. This couldn’t necessarily exactly connect directly to Trump… but Don Jr. conducted the meeting… did the report say he should be arrested for conducting the unlawful meeting? NO… but the report said no in a brilliantly insulting way. Essentially, the report remarks that they could not prove there was a willful criminal conduct. In other words… Kushner and Don Jr are either (1) too stupid to know that what they were doing was illegal; or (2) knew that they would be required by Trump to have that meeting even if it were illegal, thus ‘compelled/forced/unwillfully’ committed criminal conduct.

So… there you go. Stop celebrating Trumpists. This report and everything surrounding it proved the following
(1) The Attorney General is abusing his power and position to benefit a Criminal
(2) Sarah Huckabee Sanders (not discussed here but in the report) knows that her job is To Lie to the Press on behalf of the President and has been doing so
(3) Russia DID impact the 2016 election and DID do so for the benefit of Donald Trump
(4) Donald Trump and his organization DID have communication and influence discussions with Russians
(5) The Trump Organization did NOT enter into a tacit agreement with the Russians regarding Election Interference
(6) The Trump Organization WAS aware of the Russian Campaign (despite repeatedly telling the American People that it ‘could have been’ Russia or was Russia ‘among many others’)
(7) The President DID make numerous attempts to directly obstruct justice
(8) The President FAILED to obstruct justice because of the efforts of his staff to basically say “Fuck what the President said, I’m not breaking the law.”
(9) The Trump Organization is filled to overflowing with the incompetent, the criminally inclined, and the willfully ignorant.
(10) Ultimately… Congress still gets to make the Final Decision on Charges

POLITICS SECTION OVER

So…

I go from that political bullshit over to the Police Department to pick up the Week’s Crime Report and any video evidence we may need. I get… some awful video. Luckily not sex abuse or child shit. But… drunk guy in a van literally RUNS OVER a motorcycle driving on the highway. It’s bad. The drunk guy gets out of his van, looks at the motorcyclist bleeding, broken, and screaming on the road… then the drunk guy just bolts. Runs away. Our officers discover that the van? Registered to an elderly woman. She says that she doesn’t have a license so she lets her son drive it. She says that she KNOWS her son doesn’t have a valid license, but he needs the van to get to work. BAD. So we pick up the son. He looks like the guy from the video, for my money: he’s our perp… but that isn’t enough to hold up in court. He says that he lets his buddy from work drive the van. He says he knows his buddy doesn’t have a license and can’t give us the guy’s name because his buddy is here illegally. Meanwhile… none of us are even sure if the motorcyclist is going to survive. So… yeah. Part of my morning involved the (sarcasm) joy of being faced with man’s inhumanity to man. “So I may have killed this guy but my life and freedom is so much more important to me because it is ME, y’know?” Makes me mad. I get that people just… don’t give a shit about other people anymore… but… why?!? The world would be better for literally everyone if we treated our communities like COMMUNITIES instead of going through life just thinking “How can I get mine?”

Then I finally make it in to work. Where I already have two phone calls to return. Do you guys remember that monster that decided to show his Cancer-Ridden Girlfriend how much he loved her by dragging her through the house by her hair? Him again. Girls’ mom calls telling me that he was hanging out by their house and she doesn’t feel safe. The cops came, took him away, and he has his initial appearance this morning. Next phone call… my FIRST phone call’s sister. These two hate each other. Because Phone Call 2 Sister is constantly on Abusive Boyfriend’s side… the main concept is “He works and provides money and drugs; he can do whatever he wants in my home.” Phone Call 2 was about how Abusive Boyfriend is around people all the time and that there is no WAY he could have been ANYWHERE without her knowing about it and being there, too. Besides this is all just a way to hurt HER because today is the anniversary of her husband’s death. I just.. let her talk… and then ask what she wants me to do. Because… he just got arrested, yo. I have no power or control, I’m not even assigned this case until after the Defendant has his initial appearance. She says that the Clerk of Courts were very rude to her and she wants me to tell her when Abusive Boyfriend will be released. I again explain to her… any information I have on this case right now is pulled from the Public Records which she has equal online access to and that, since those records don’t tell me anything specific about the case, all I can do is recommend that she call the Clerk of Courts who have greater access to that case right now than I do.
It should come as no surprise that both women (Phone Call 1 and Phone Call 2) have potential Mental Health Issues. So… people “not right” in a family feud keep trying to bring me and my office into it… when it is a much better use of my time to actually do things that matter… as opposed to these two 40/50 year olds who apparently can’t engage in conflict resolution without calling the cops!

Speaking of things that deserve being cared about… the little boy that was locked in a closet and not given a restroom or bed? The judge, and this is a direct quote from his order, could not find sufficient evidence to declare that the purpose was to harm the child. K. ???? I mean… I get it. But… if I just don’t want to take care of my child anymore… so I lock him in a small room without food, water, a bed, or a bathroom whenever that child is home.... shouldn’t the court (by way of the State’s evidence) be able to extrapolate that the logical and inevitable outcome of that conduct would be harmful to the child? Thereby establishing such severe negligence and apathy that whether the underlying purpose was harm, harm was the only likely conclusion of the conduct?

BAH. It isn’t even noon yet and already.... not a great day for the reputation of Humanity.

I completely agree with your take on the Mueller report. But Trump's desciples blindly believe everything he says, and he is another PT Barnum. He knows just how to play them. I've lost respect for so many people that I've loved (still love) and respected all my life because of their defense of and support for that man.

I assume you know all the studies that have shown that screen time just before bed and in the middle of the night messes up sleep patterns. I didn’t believe it for years, but it really worked for me, to quit the videos and blue flickering electronics an hour before sleep. I read instead and sleep much better.

I am always intrigued by your political/legal insights. You offer a perspective and analysis big the legalities that opens up vastly interesting insights. Especially into our current administration, where my own background can bring me only common sense insights (sorely lacking in the news as it is.)

The two insurance companies that I've been on while having my cpap, have required 4 hours of use a night. There were a certain number of nights per month--I forget that number because I just told myself that I always needed to use it at least 4 hours a night. From what I've read, this is what most insurance companies require for them to pay for the machine, so I'd be surprised if yours requires more. You may ask for clarification. In the beginning when I had such a difficult time getting used to the cpap and sleeping through the night, to make sure that I got that time in, I would go up to bed an hour or so early, put it on, and lay there reading or surfing the internet. Cpap boards suggest wearing it while watching tv if you are having trouble getting your time in.

Thanks for the suggestion!! I might just do that to make sure I'm getting enough hours.
