The Countdown in Poetry

The dark night
Gave the snow life
The moonlight
Shatters my life
Into a million pieces
My eyes abort
Fears that distort
While I run in between
Hallucinations of fear and death
And I know nothing is left

One
Two
Three

The moonlight
Penetrates my eyes
Scattering its design
The stars glow inside
Liquefying my pain
Abstracting time
And I cannot find
The words
That always leave my mind

Four
Five
Six

I cannot believe
The camouflage of this
Disease inside of my blood
Discarding my veins
Eating me alive
Inside out
Regurgitating
And my eyes fall out

Seven
Eight
Nine

I’m waiting to return to one
For it is the only number
That relates to me
As my heart and eyes lie
And I cannot trust my mind
Because the world
Is fake and blind
