  • Work: I’m still here. In the office today. It’s been a pretty okay week, seeing as I’m back from the GIANT CORP Supplier Summit, I’ve turned in my recap and my un-approved expense report, and Boss is still out of the office (this time he’s at a trade show in Vegas that I normally attend but didn’t this year). I’ve had only a few meetings and I’ve gotten my shit done. Sure, I have a lot to do today, but the stress level is so much lower than it has been the last several weeks. I haven’t spent a lot of time searching for other jobs because I’m still playing catch-up on pressing things, but I’ve also been able to book my Scotland tour of the Highlands, so...there’s that.

  • Upcoming Travel: Great segue to my trip in September. It’s all planned except for my flights from Paris to London and back! I was going to take the Eurostar (chunnel) back and forth as I’ve done in the past, but there was some issue that kept me from booking. I finally emailed Eurostar’s customer service and they told me that there was scheduled construction during the dates that I needed so they couldn’t book any trains for those days. Come to find out that flying is about ⅓ of the cost of Eurostar! Wow. So I ended up booking my last night in Paris basically AT Charles de Gaulle airport. That means I can take a pretty late flight out of London on my last night and just get up in Paris and I’m already at the airport for my flight home! Ugh. I hate thinking about my last day in Paris already! So far I have the following planned: Arrive in Paris; have a day to walk to my heart’s desire; shop the massive flea markets; attend the home decor show and then fly to London; have a day to walk to my heart’s desire; train from London to Edinburgh, Scotland; have a day to walk to my heart’s desire; coach tour to the Highlands and Loch Ness; train back to London; attend some London Design Week events; flight back to Paris; have a nightcap and then fly back to the US! Anything stand out to you? I LOVE to walk! I’m so excited to just get caught up in walking and getting out and about. And if the weather happens to be crap, I can either walk in the rain or curl up with some good reads in a coffee shop or whatnot. I’m staying in super cool hotels! I’m so, so excited!

  • Bod: Still doing my 4-day/week intense workouts. That’s Saturday and Sunday, both early morning workouts at Boutique Gym #1 and Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30am at Insane-Hour Gym #2..and I’m loving it! At about the fifth class of Insane-Hour Gym workouts I started noticing a change in my body and the pounds started dropping. I’m thisclose to being back into the 120#s and I’m seeing my muscle tone come back and I’m very pleased. I will say that the last two weeks of travel did a bit of a number on my progress - mainly because of the extra wine and a bit of carby goodness (breads, desserts) and some cheeeeese. But all-in-all I’m feeling much better than I did at the beginning of the year. Oh, and I’m trying to remember to hold my shoulders back when I walk and sit at my desk. With all of the sitting and looking down at my phone that I do, I notice a HUGE difference in my appearance and even my outlook when I pull my shoulders back in suck in the tum a bit.

  • Love Life: I did it again. I peeked back on Bumble and pulled out a couple of fresh, new opportunities...and they couldn’t be more different from each other. The first one is yet *another* police officer - and the crazy thing is that he is in the same department and location as the (Original) Officer from the last few weeks, AND they work nearly the *same* HOURS! I know this because I actually met this officer last night, kind of in the same way that OO (Original Officer) and I used to see each other while he was on duty. I gave him a meeting spot in a particular park and he pulled up in his patrol car. Ha. Anyway. Let’s call this *new* guy Officer Cocksure, as he’s extremely confident and heartbreakingly good looking. Oh, and we have a walking date tonight (he and I and our collective four dogs). The second guy seems like the NICEST guy ever and he kind of stalled in the process of asking me out...he keeps skirting around the issue, so I decided to take the lead (not sure if I like that, but I did because I really want to meet this guy), and I’ve asked him to coffee (even though I’m not drinking coffee anymore - I’ll have tea) at some point this weekend. What do we call him? I suppose I’ll just call him Mr. Nice Guy for nowI gotta be honest - I’m turned on by the thought of Officer Cocksure. Of course, I can’t let *him* know this, but daaaammmnn, dude is fiiiiiine. Yet Mr. Nice Guy intrigues me because I could REALLY use a nice guy in my life right now.

Welp. I gotta roll. Tons to do before I leave the office and get spiffed up in a sporty kinda way to meet a hot cop…

What happens when the cops talk to each other? ;)

Or is the department big enough that it doesn't matter?

    Last time I was 120s was....um.....second grade? ;)

Yeah, they're gonna talk to each other. We saw each other last night and he knows every single cop in town (of course)
