Cyclops in The Truth (As I Know It)

I’m a classic over-thinker. BIG TIME. I had a dream the other night I was playing poker and I had so many cards in my hands that it was impossible to make any rational decisions on how to play my hand. That metaphor is an apt one. My mind meanders into so many off-the beaten path offshoots and cul-de-sacs that I can’t find my way back to the road I was on. Maybe that is a manifestation of doubt and not enough confidence, and not just a lack of discipline and focus. Maybe it’s a subtle form of self-sabotage. Whatever it is, it needs to stop. I need a visor like Cyclops of the X-Men wears to channel all my mental energy into one concentrated, targeted blast. I need boundaries, focus, and discipline. I’ve become fat and lazy- both mentally and physically. It’s time to harness my run-away brain and put it to use on things positive and achievable. Cyclops without the visor is nothing more than a random destruction machine. I need to find my visor.
