My sister, bro-in-law and nephew are visiting this weekend. They fly in Friday morning and leave the following Tuesday morning. Not a long visit, but long enough. I’m excited to see them. Its definitely giving me the extra push to make my apartment look like someone “lives” there rather than just “exists” there. I’ve been doing a lot of shopping and cleaning. Raiding the Dollar Tree. Seriously, you can buy just about anything there and the people-watching is fantastic.

We have our “itinerary” of their visit pretty well-planned out, but the days’ events are assuming we aren’t going to have any rain while they are here. Right now, the forecast is looking a little iffy.

This past weekend was pretty fun. Friday night I had book club. The host had two cats, both under the age of one. You guys. I’m literally so close to adopting a cat. So close. Then on Saturday, two former teammates from the football team wanted to hang out and they even volunteered to travel to where I live, about 30-45 mins away from where the team plays. Most of the time, people just assume that I’ll come to them (and I do), so it was quite a please surprise when they said they wanted to come to where I live.

We had a really fun day. They own a Stand Up Paddleboard, a kayak, and an inflatable raft. They also bought an inflatable cooler. We paddled out to the the middle of the lake (which is literally 5 mins from my apartment) and just chilled on the lake for a few hours. Drinking, swimming, paddling. Did just enough venting about the football team to get it out of our systems. (They both played and quit as well.) I hope they had as much fun as I did. I think they did. It’s good to have have friends who own really nice water sport toys hahahah. One of them filed for divorce the exact same day as me and got her divorce finalized May 25th. She is about to get married to the other chick. No time wasted there.

My divorce date is June 12th; the same day that my sister, bro-in-law, and nephew leave. Purely coincidental. But the hearing isn’t until the afternoon, and they will be gone by then. And now I don’t have to worry about taking a separate, additional day off work for the hearing. Hoping the actual hearing is a quick and easy, in and out thing. I have my fingers crossed.
