Peeling The Onion in Musings

How much of what we do is truly the result of “free will’? We all are a Rubik’s Cube of wants and needs- wants and needs that formulate in a petri dish stew of familial relationships, social norms, what we are taught, and the unique genetic code we are born with. When we choose, are we really CHOOSING, or are we merely trying to balance out the competing influences that make up our psyche? No decision is ever made in a vacuum- the microprocessor in our mind is constantly churning the data. How many of us ever REALLY know ourselves? I want to quiet my mind and look inward- minus the clutter. Self-awareness. What’s that voice down in the well telling me ? Peel the onion....
