I finished chapter 2 of Baby Rudin in 22600

When it was almost the holidays, I promised myself to study from that book at least every other day and see how far I can go.
It’s getting quite boring because the end goal of doing that is so far away (doing original research in math), and that’s just a tiny fraction of what I have to do to get there.
I would’ve had an easier time if I promised myself to learn Blender, or write my first large-scale piece of music. The end goal of that would be much closer, but being a mathematician is the only bearable way to make a living (I just don’t like the real world very much). My style of art is so far from commercially viable that if I tried to make a living that way, it would just be soul-crushing (I tried composing film music once, that’s how I know).
