I made a promise to continually study from Baby Rudin throughout the entire holiday. Making time for creativity is fine, but what I find happening is that when I use that as an excuse and slack off too much, it becomes harder to motivate myself to read the book.
So it looks like holidays are overrated; spending days of doing nothing only makes you less motivated and productive, instead of refreshing you and keeping burnout at bay (at least for me). And besides, I have to learn how to motivate myself to get things done, even when they’re less-than-pleasant.
I promise to get through at least one page a day from now on. Even if I do the bare minimum, that’s enough to get to the end of chapter 3 by the time classes start. If I do more, I might get there earlier and have time to do the exercises.
