On Wednesday it was dead at work so they sent Amanda home. About an hour later I had a few people at the bar, and two tables. One was a family of five. I was trying to give everyone good service, but obviously I could not be in 3 places at once so it wasn't the best, but I didn't think anything of it. The family of five seemed awfully particular about shit and it was pissing me off. First they complained because I didn't put cocktail napkins down. Then the father found a scuff mark on a plate and told me to give him a different one. I finally got all of the food out and they seemed content. They were just chatting it up and forks and knives were in their plates so I figured they were done. I went to go pick up the father's plate and he was like LEAVE it here, I'm not done. I was like okay sorry! He was like Please give us another minute. At this point I was just like fuck it I'm not going back there for awhile. I finally dropped off their check under the name he gave me, "DiVito". They left and I went to pick up the check. There was a note written to me on it saying that it was the wrong guy and he was to be put under "Promo" which is what we put guests of the company under. It was an easy change, but he could have told me in the first place. I went out to the hall and he was standing there and he was like "Did you get my note?" I was like "Yes, sorry I didn't know you were guests". He gave me a funny look and then walked away. I didn't understand what the fuck his deal was. WELL, the next day Chef goes, "Oh Natalie do you remember Devito coming in yesterday with his family?" I was like "Oh yeah that guy I thought was Joe Divito" He was like "You know he is the owner of this country club, right?" I was like FUCK! No one fucking told me. So I made a really bad impression on him and looked like an idiot for not even knowing he was the owner. But it does explain their snootiness. Later on in the day, Paul, my boss, came in and said he wanted to talk to me. I was like "Uh oh, I am in trouble." He asked if I waited on Devito, "Yes I did" ...I was waiting for him to point out my flaws but he just asked "Who was the other party that was in the dining room when they were there?" I was confused. "Um.. I don't remember" We had to go back into the computer to see what party was in while he was dining and I found out it was Raymond and his friends. I guess they had been talking mad shit about the club and Devito had over heard. I asked Paul if he was mad at my service and he was like "Well yeah, he mentioned you did a few things wrong, but he kept saying you were green so he understood" Hah. Green? Whatever. The guy was a douche, owner or not, but I am glad I wasn't in trouble!!!
Tomorrow Dave and I are taking a ferry ride to P-town! Providence on the cape. I am really excited because it is really artsy and Massachusetts "gay community". I have wanted to go see the cape and visit P-town since I got here so I am glad we finally have a Saturday with nothing to do and we can go there. The only problem is, there might be a crazy thunderstorm with torrential downpour....I'm hoping not because I really want to go! If there is, oh well we can go another time. I kind of have a lot to do around the apartment because Sunday night I am having a 1960s themed goodbye party for the summer staff at the Fern who are leaving us! I am nervous because I haven't had a party here yet and what if no one shows up? I want to get some stuff at party city and get like cool 60s stuff to wear. I am going to have "drunken artwork" because I haven't done that since the Claremont house and it is fun!! Louis said he will bring Apples to Apples and I might make jello shots or something, I don't know. I only invited 17 people so hopefully like 10 will actually show up since this apt is pretty small! I guess we shall find out!
Then on Monday Dave, me and Alyson are going on the Boston duck boat tour! I am really excited because I haven't really had the chance to explore much of Boston and it is supposed to be nice weather. But I am definitely looking forward to the next few days!
