Wednesday morning I woke up and drove 2 hours to Lake Ossipee in New Hampshire to meet up with Dave and his step-mom's family. Carol's family is very wealthy and have a couple of very nice houses. One happens to be right on the lake and so every summer their entire family stays there on the weekends and when they have time off of work. We had a ton of fun! It was nice to just relax and not worry about a thing. The first thing we did when I got there was take the pontoon boat out with Carol and Brian, and Carol's niece CeCe. It was fun to just swim around, the water was very warm. We were surrounded by beautiful trees and I really felt like I was back home in Washington. Later that evening we watched the fireworks and a beautiful lightening storm that was taking place over near Mt. Washington. The whole sky would flash bright and then you'd hear the thunder, all while a ton of fireworks were going off around the entire lake. It was definitely a beautiful thing to witness.

Yesterday the whole family took kayaks and canoes out to the river. It was such a fiasco getting all the stuff out and we had 12 people that wanted to go down the river, but somehow we got it all organized and as soon as we knew it we were floating down a beautiful river. It was my first time canoeing and Dave and I had a blast. We even stopped a sandy spot to have lunch and go for a quick dip. I have several mosquito bites and an awful sunburn, but I had so much fun and I would do it again!
