Today John and I went to Media Island. I have only been there once before for Free Skool and I sat with a couple hippies and learned more about how horrible capitalism really is. I have been meaning to get more involved in Free Skool and all the other cool things Media Island offers, but I got too busy with my everyday normal life that the hippie dream kind of slipped away. (Especially since Dave is anti-hippie!) But still, the thought of living in a hippie village and participating in all kinds of free-spirited ways of living still lingers in the back of my mind. So today when John and I went back there I remembered why I love it there so much. They were having some fundraiser today for village garden. It is a different way of life. If this village really works out, people all over Oly and the surrounding cities can have a place to go to help others. They can bring their unique crafts, cooking skills, etc. and live without corporation and go back to the simple village life. THAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY DREAM! But things are so different now that I have a significant other. But I could always live both lives. So what cause would I support? Definitely this one. They need a lot of volunteers and I decided today that I want to start being more involved with media island, especially since John does too at least I will have a friend with me. It would be so nice to be around people who understand how I view this world, people who don't want to waste, people who genuinely care about the environment and others and animals. . .
