I’m in one of those funks where I want to write, and I sit down and try to type, but I never actually say anything [until now of course..]. I started an entry on Wednesday but other than a few notes I procrastinated until I ran out of time. Plus work was crazy busy that day so I didn’t really have time to devote to it. We should probably open more days a week but we can’t seem to commit, especially with the house painting project taking up any free morning that we have. I’d say we’re somewhere near 1/2 done. It’s a slow process but coming along nicely for the time we’re able to put into it. I mean you only have like a 1-3 hour gap in the morning that’s decent for painting. It’s either too foggy or too hot and you have to work in the small transitional period.

Anyway, it’s going well. I had to drag myself out of bed this morning. I don’t know why I struggle so much. I’m just not a morning person at all. And without having a definite time and place to be it’s even harder to get out there. I can wake up and move when I have to be at a certain place by a certain time, but this isn’t like that. It’ll get done though. I keep joking that my deadline’s Christmas, but I’ve moved it up to Thanksgiving. Progress! :)

I started this entry again while I was at work around 2pm. We were there behind closed doors working on various things. Also, there’s AC at the office and we’re in the 100s these days. I mostly wasted time, although I did get some paperwork ready for a client that’s coming Wednesday. Still I procrastinated on this, but now I’ve started to type and I’m not sure I can stop. hah.

While I was painting earlier [I actually got about 2 1/2 hours in after I stumbled out of bed] I could hear the new neighbor rummaging around on his side of the fence. I heard them doing laundry, and then I heard them talking loudly, and I heard him open the door and say, “right…it’s not like I have anything better to do.” Or something along those lines. Then he came out and goes, “right, harley?” to the dog. haha. They didn’t sound angry or anything. Just a typical couple spat.

I guess I haven’t mentioned that I finally met them. Yesterday maybe? He was walking the dogs and then his gf came out and met him down the street and as they were walking back they said hi to Mom and she started talking about how cute the dog was. I think it was probably her way to get them to come closer. As they walked up the drive I called out hi from the ladder and said something about not having met yet. Mom introduced me and I got down to shake hands. I shook hers first and then I went to shake his but he was facing away from me. It almost felt like he was avoiding turning directly towards me but I poked around to make contact and he finally reached out and took my hand. We talked for a little bit about the painting and then they walked back to their side of the fence. Interesting couple.

Of course he insisted on mowing the lawn this morning. [keeping me from hearing my painting music] I don’t know why. It was hot as heck already! And he insisted on doing it in a white t-shirt. Why do men do chores in white t-shirts? haha. He’s pretty good looking too. If he weren’t living with his gf I would have totally stood there on that ladder staring at him while he worked. ha. I only glanced a couple times though, I swear. ;)

He never said a word to me. [but apparently talks to mom when she’s outside…] I tried to make eye contact a couple times towards the end but he was wearing sunglasses and he didn’t seem to look up. He was being all productive. That guy cannot sit still! I hear him almost every morning working around the yard or doing random projects. They’ve only been there like 3 weeks maybe. It’s kinda comforting to listen to him work though. I don’t even know why, but there’s something about listening to that man out there in the early morning.

In other news: I finally ordered some new swimsuits on Friday. They should be here tomorrow. I ordered two and either one should work. It’s always tough with the whole size thing when ordering online but at least there’s free returns! The two dresses that I ordered earlier in the year worked really well so fingers crossed.

I actually wrote several more paragraphs on various other things but this is getting long and it’s getting late. [I stopped to watch movies haha] There’s still more to say on the other topics so I think I’ll put them in a separate entry and wrap this up. I want to get it posted before bed. Tomorrow’s an early wake up day because we’re going to a funeral service at 9am in another town. I should write about that too but I don’t have the emotional strength to deal. It’s not even someone I knew that well. An old neighbor. It’s the circumstances though. I’ll get to it at some point.

Bed now.

rose.
