looking forward to darkness in Second 1st

I sent a text to my mom this morning asking about eclipse glasses for Joshua because I had seen on my Facebook Feed that county A was going to be out of school the 21st.... Pretty much that enough people had called asking about writing a parent excuse note they just figured no one would be there anyway. However, my lucky 7 yr old nephew goes to school in County B where they have at least designated a “field trip” and got their hands on a few hundred eclipse glasses.

Realizing we still have not gotten ours, i put it on our list of things to do today. ....

I was avoiding starting this meal prep thing .... I just knew it was going to be a huge amount of work and I didn’t really know where to start.... which is good that I have this book that tells me what to do next.... but I just wasn’t ready. So I texted Krystal about hanging out after work and put in a whole couple of hours of procrastination with her… then got started and found I needed things....

I’ve never made massive amounts of things and found I needed a stock pot (which I did not previously have obviously), so we ran out for that.

Took 5 hours just to get through the Chicken stuff. I made Chili Hamburgers before I realized Rocky manned the list in the store horribly.... and we needed to go back out.... Rocky decided we’d go do the things we wanted to and get back to it when we got back.... we forgot the thing we needed while we were out so I had to go out a third time to get it..... now It’s nearly 10 and I’m out of ambition.... and slightly hungry.

Think I’ll make breakfast muffins and eat one.

While we were out we managed to find eclipse glasses. They are horribly scares here but the smart few are selling them in parking lots and advertising them on OfferUp, LetGo, Close5..... found some for $3 each.... bought a couple for the neighbors … and now we are all covered :). Monday, I won’t miss the event..... I also hope that in 2024 it passes over us again and we remember to pre order some glasses to sell in parking lots lol
