Vacation Day 1:

Was my lazy day. I woke up, took the grandkiddo to school. Came home, made breakfast for me and the son. We watched anime. I cleaned my kitchen. I really need to clean my floors though. The weekend before, me and the gkid went through his toys because they were becoming disrespectfully all over the place. I had him make decisions about what’s going in the basement and what’s staying. We figured that out and got that corner under control.

Vacation Day 2:

I went to my dad’s house to see him and ended up hanging out with my brother. We watched a movie and had some very in depth conversations. At the end of the day, I ended up getting stuck going to choir rehearsal with them which was fine. Saw a few family members and it was funny because everyone thought I’d be singing with them. I was like I’m just an observer. Then my adopted sister took me home and we had decent conversation, but that conversation turned out to be bullshit for the most part.

Vacation Day 3:

I was supposed to go back to dad’s but I was feeling lazy. I vegged out on the couch and played a video game. I was basically hunting for the magic yorbels just because I’ve never successfully gotten them all. Then I left to go to a meeting at work. I would have gotten paid for if I was already at work so I got vacation time, plus this meeting time in. There was information I needed to know including the information that the corrected W2’s were available. But somehow, I’m just now printing it. Well that’s because I’m back at work. It is what it is. They brought in tacos from the food truck/turned restaurant Cha Cha Chow. It was great. Had an Asian slaw with crispy wonton strips. I think someone made that though. I want to go there for lunch today.

Vacation Day 4:

Another anime day I think. Thursday was very non-descript other than going to karaoke. OH! that’s right. RJ and I were supposed to go to the farmer’s market in Soulard. Her little brother was in town and she had her nephew and therefore I didn’t think she’d be wanting to go. Besides that she woke up right when she texted son’s phone. So that was that. Went to karaoke, sang a bunch of songs. It was pretty cool. It was a nice night. I got to see my people from the place on the corner, my favorite being Ecko. His brother came, the waitress/bartender, Jay showed up, but I knew he’d be there. Nay was there. Her husband/boo was the KJ. I reached a level of drunk that I’d been trying to reach since my sister passed away. The headache that followed wasn’t the nicest though. Only because I had several different liquors.

Vacation Day 5:

Don’t even remember this day. I remember taking some ibuprofen and chilling because I had a headache. I finished reading my book The Color of Water (highly recommended). Didn’t eat much I don’t think. I can’t remember when I went to the store. Picked up gkid from school and took him to get his haircut. That was a tragedy. He cried and ouched and jumped and kicked and voiced his displeasure with his barber. LOL

Saturday, after being utterly disappointed, I went to run errands with a friend. I went grocery shopping and to the farmer’s market and to a few other stores. When I got home, I called up RJ and told her I was coming to her party and she picked me up and we headed over. It was a good time. The place is a restaurant but it has board games to play. Board games, card games, role playing games, party games, connect 4, Electronic Battleship. They have over 500+ games. The drinks were a little weak though. They were good, just weak. We played a game called Left Right Center except we play with quarters. I won like 2 or three times for a total of six bucks. lol The food was pretty decent. I got some lumpia and Korean BBQ sliders which was nothing more than pulled beef. The lumpia wasn’t authentic like the ones at Guerilla Street, but they were tasty. Got home, brooded a bit, flipped channels, whipped up some chicken teriyaki with broccoli and cabbage and made tacos with them and gave the rest to the son.

Sunday was Sunday. I was home, did some laundry. Sat around and watched some Adventure Time. Marinated meat and cooked it beautifully. Messed up my mac n cheese but redeemed it. ::smh::

Now I’m back at work.
I wanted to come to work.
I was looking forward to the distraction.

Will be in training after lunch today.
Will catch up on reading you all soon.

Kindest regards,
Sister

sounds like your vacation wasn't too bad. But I understand needing the distraction of work.

One of these days I'm going to watch you sing. Too bad we don't have karaoke around here. lol not that I would ever get up and try it, though.

You're not missing much. I have ZERO stage presence. LOL
