Well.
My first day back at the pharmacy was overwhelming. I made it through, didn’t have a meltdown. I know I’ll get the hang of it, and probably will do so rather quickly because these people know how to train a person. Not like the ones I worked for before. Thank god.

Yes, they have a lot to fix. Like getting the damn scrips out in a timely manner, but they’re all learning a new system. I should cut them some slack on that one… but the one tech moves slow, and the other pharmacist? She’s like a snail riding on a turtle going through molasses.

Basically all I did was follow the head pharmacist around, but when I saw some scrips that needed to be counted out (I don’t know where the other tech went) I just pulled the meds and started counting. I couldn’t do the scanning part, but at least the counting was done.

I have notes that I have to try to decipher and type out. The more I write/type anything out, the more it will sink in.

They all seem very nice. Of course, Jordan is nice. He always has been.

I did get a general idea of how many customers they lost when Thuy opened up her own pharmacy. When I worked there before we’d be filling 200-300 scrips a day. They’re down to about 80. Sad sad sad. lol but if that’s all they’ve been filling, why the hell does it take so fucking long to get one filled? smh. I move pretty fast. Always have. Part of growing up in Salem. Maybe the scrips will get out a little faster when I’m teching. Eh. You never know.

My body is all kinds of hurting though. Stress, coupled with almost standing still for four hours. I’m fine if I’m moving around, like dealing with Clients 2 and 3, but standing still is an issue. I’ll have to remember to do some stretches.

As for my clothes… lol what fits me is extreeeemly limited. Seriously. So tomorrow I’m wearing a skirt. I haven’t worn a skirt in two years or more lol Gads I’m going to feel embarrassed. And it’s not like a short skirt. It’s one of those broom stick skirts so I won’t even be showing much of my ankles lol I did order some orange (yes, orange) tights for another skirt I have. I guess I should go back through all the clothes I pulled for the yahd sale. The jeans I wore today fit me perfect, and they’re a size smaller than what I usually fit into. What a pain in the ass.

So I made it. I’ll be going back tomorrow. I told Steven (the head pharm) That I wanted to try to put some scrips in the computer. At least the ones that already have the scrip number. Those are super easy. New scrips? They wouldn’t “allow” me to do that for some reason the last time I was there. Actually, that was fine by me because I didn’t have to deal with Loan and her attitude up front. I was quite happy stuck in the corner filling scrips for the nursing homes.

I guess that’s it.

Now I need more coffee.

See ya!

P.S.
Thank you Teflon for understanding, and giving me some awesome advice :)

I'll bet if you get them out a little faster, you'll end up with more returning customers. There are a stupid number of pharmacy's near me - too many old folks I guess? - and there are some I definitely avoid because the wait time makes me want to scream.

Anyway! Congratulations on making it through. You'll get the hang of it again in no time, and your body will get used to it I guess. Well done, and best of luck.
