I'm (literally) At Home With My New Job in Working From Home Is Not Near As Glamorous As You Think But It's A Helluva Lotta Fun

I work as an employee for an online site, and I work from home. I absolutely love it. I love 99.999% of our customers. Working from home is nothing like I imagined it would. Right now, I am temporary. I have read many reviews about the job I have, people either love it or hate it, I don’t think there is any in between. I love it, and I’m fairly good at it. I am encouraged to take care of my customers, in this world that is rare. And also mighty ironic, cause I need customer service myself, on a few of my products right now. One of the companies I need, there is an hour wait time (no matter what time you call), one of them finally, (after 3 phone calls, and plenty of begging) sent me what I needed, and the last one wants me to pay $175.00 to get what I need. That doesn’t even include my cable company , oh they want me to pay $5.00, just to even talk to a live person. BS on that!
You encourage me to take care of customers? Oh then believe me I am.
Like the 70ish lady that called in to return her much too sophisticated “boombox.” She called in for a return, because it was broke. It did not go from one song to the next. In order to get to her favorite song on her Rod Stewart, or her meditation CD, she had to listen to the entire thing! That was not going to work for her. She did not like all the songs that much! I asked her to grab it, and of course grab the Stewart CD. I explained the button with the >> sign just might progress that CD. After she asked which page of the manual I was on, she said hold on, I need to try my other CD. As we hung up, I heard the sound of a flute and waves crashing, smiled and knew I had taken care of my customer.
Or my other 80 something lady friend, that called in to buy her some shell earrings. She had no clue how to even turn her computer on. (How she even found our phone number, I will never know.) We got to talk two nights in a row! First night was lesson 1. How to sign up, and in, how to find your items, and how to “bookmark” what you want to buy. We got all the way to the total, and after she learned we did not take checks, she had to go.....very upset. Not to worry I told her. She had her total, take that amount to your bank, and make a deposit for such and such amount. I called her back the next night, for lesson 2. How to place an order. After 4 1/2 hours total (and me wondering if I was being pranked) my new friend did it. I clapped and told her she did it, and I was SUPER proud of her. She was proud too. She told me, she needed a fifth and a straw. I told her I was still at work, so have a sip for me. I hope she thinks of me the first time she wears those earrings.
