Now that Nimoy has passed, I think I’d be okay with Star Trek 13 straight-up being called “The Search For Spock.”

C’mon. Open with some sequence where Kirk gets some transmission from Quinto-Spock, saying that he was probably already dead. Kirk would defy order (again), and Karl Urban would have an opportunity to get far more screentime and witty lines. Not to mention Chekov and Sulu AND Scotty. And MAYBE Uhura could talk to Chapel or Dr. Marcus about something OTHER than Spock and pass the Brechtel Test.

Of COURSE, Quinto-Spock would appear something in the movie, just like Star Trek III. But if they’re going to continue to be unoriginal like Into Darkness was, they might as well go all the way. Just a thought. You can be unoriginal and be AMAZING.

Quinto made a good enough Spock appearance-wise, but he didn't have THE VOICE. The voice was a big part of why Nimoy's Spock was so damned good.

"Fascinating."

Never considered that. When I close my eyes, Karl Urban sounds JUST like cranky ol' McCoy.
