Let's See... in meh...

1) Tried to call my “bff” but the conversation was all text. Don’t know if that was on purpose or not. I almost don’t want to try even that anymore, but I reached out.

2) My cousin and her daughter were in an accident. Her ribs are bruised, her daughter doesn’t want to drive anymore for the moment.

3) So today, I got an email that my performance review meeting with supervisor would take place on the 17th. That was the appointment I accepted. So when I came upstairs for a random reason, she was all “Close the door.” I got jumpy like, “What did I do this time?” She then told me she sent a correction, which I did not see. So we had the meeting it was brief.

Because of our little kurfuffle this past year, that had to be taken into account. Don’t know when raises will go into effect, but it’s guaranteed I get one.

I wasn’t aware of how many people at my job don’t know how the process works. I had to tell my one friend that you can get up the maximum of 3% or nothing at all. I’ve always been blessed to have gotten the max.

4) I have this really great friend who I was apparently pulled from the same rib meat. She knows I like to sip a lot (lol) and so she was going to help a sister out and get her some drank. She is like receuperating/vacationing in the sunny warm world right now and I’m all, “No way.” Seriously though. I love the gesture. I LOVE the gesture. But I cannot have someone long arming my bad habits. LOL

5) My state taxes came in. I was able to cash the check yesterday. I get paid Friday, but this little bit was much needed and much helpful. I was able to take my son to dinner, paid off a payday loan in which I pray for direction in hopes this raise will help me further my cause of getting to a comfortable place in life. I don’t ever want to do another payday loan for as long as I live. When I get paid this week, I will be able to pay utility bills and have some money left over. My fed money has finally been received aka they finally opened my envelope. I’m getting direct deposit on that. When it drops, I will cut my daughter a check for some funds, I will make an appointment so that my son and myself can BOTH go get glasses. Mine have been broken for like a year. It’s terrible.

6) These glasses. I’ve held onto them for so long because of my deceased grandmother. I tried to tell her that I wasn’t able to get glasses under her “insurance” (medicare) because I wasn’t ON her insurance. She as all cocky about it. I was like okay, Miss I-Got-This. She paid for everything on her JCPenny card. When she got the bill she was looking at me all hateful. I looked at her right back and stated the obvious: “I tried to told you, but you didn’t listen because you “GOT THIS”. My grandmother died in 2009. These glasses have been through the proverbial wringer. The arms became loose and wobbly. Personally fixed that. Then, due to my apparently toxic-ass sweat (not ass-sweat. that’s gross) the metal on the arms of the glasses disintegrated. A coworker had some stuff to help put them back together. Then I put my hand on them trying to balance myself and they snapped in an awkward place in the middle. I’ve been rocking nerd-wear for a year. Some folks don’t notice right away, but others pick up on it and I just throw my hands up and say don’t stare too hard. He even wanted to buy me some glasses, but I refused. I should have done it, but there are just somethings I have to fix on my own even if help is offered.

So that’s about all I got on today.
Peace, blessings, & light…
Kindest regards,
Sister
