I left him a note:

VERY GOOD summary of what we need to do to have more money. Concise. Complete. Thoughtful.
Second financial commandment - pay off your debts and do not borrow again. I discovered that in 1972. It was when we paid off our $67.45 a month trailer . Cars were either paid for or close - was the year we bought the $100 ‘62 Chevy from Central City. Still had a $50 well payment for a while.

I don’t watch TV, haven’t since my husband died and took the remote with him in the very early 2000s. I cannot remember the year. I can search for his obit on the local funeral site but ...... maybe I should. I haven’t checked there yet this morning and it’s a large part of my day, seeing who’s died and what’s being said about them.

Funeral home site has updated and maybe doesn’t go back that far anymore. Find A Grave told me it was 2002. Maybe I should get a tattoo… or write a poem.

Meanwhile my twin by a different mother and father, the president of the United States (Trump was born two days after I was - we were the beginning of the Baby Boom. Also born in 1946 were George W. Bush, July 6 and Bill Clinton, August 19.

So anyway, my lack of TV and my surplus of internet have collided in an odd feeling today. One of the first things X showed me was Trump’s little movie in which he dispatches Colbert from his stage and closed him in a garbage dumpster. I tried to find a way to link it here but you can look for it for yourself.

I don’t know how mean the comics are to the President but it’s sure not a new thing. George W. invited Dana Carvey who imitated him on Satusday Night LIve to the White House and suggested that Carvey could fill in for him sometimes when he was busy. Wow, does that sound like a long time ago. I wonder if we can ever get back to those simpler, perhaps kinder days.

When I think of living another bunch of years, I wish I could see how history turns out. Or maybe I don’t.

By the way, do any of you have Youtube channels? Or know people who do? The place is filled with old people, people living in their vehicles, book people, diet people and money advisors. I could make a list. Sure I could, and maybe I will. There - now we both have something to look forward to.

It’s been about a year now since we’ve had fiber optic internet. Our former landline phone is now connected into the fiber optic service too. It’s called VOIP - voice over internet protocol. And WOW, is that an improvement. It’s considerably cheaper. Both internet and phone are billed with the electric service and I pay it automatically from my checking account. And it works ‘perfectly’. Our previous underground phone lines were susceptible to rain. Any time it rained, the phone got crackly and distant and would not work, for weeks at a time. Sometimes the rain didn’t last long and it got better by itself, but often we had to have the phone guy come and figure out where the problem was and fix it.

I’m not sure if I’d trade the bad phone for the bad president. I’ll have to think about that.
