There are so many things I love about this big ol’ building where I live.

For example, I just got home from a sound bath. It was one of the best sound baths I’ve ever attended. And it was in the basement of my gigantic warehouse building. There were several people there I already knew!

After I left the sound bath, I walked past the gym where professional sports trainers work with professional athletes and normal people alike. I could see a lot of activity in there, and it’s pretty electric. There are two gyms in the building: the pro athlete one in the basement and another one on the top floor that’s an old-school DIY gym with all the equipment, showers, lockers, etc.

And right around the hallway, I peeked through the door of the coffee shop where they have open mic and live music Thursday through Sunday evenings. A female duo was onstage, singing and playing guitar.

This Saturday, I’ll be attending a workshop with an artist who lives in the building. I was introduced to her via another friend who knows this person via their photography careers.

Next week, I’m attending an upcycling craft workshop in the big atrium of the building.

Everyone here is a creative, or an athlete, or an eccentric, or even an average joe, but with some kind of flair or flourish or quirk or notable feature. It’s fascinating to me, and I’m so excited that there is ALWAYS something going on and ALWAYS someone to talk to.

OR! I always have the option just to go to my beautiful corner-lit studio loft and be alone…which I will want to do a lot of with the flurry of daily work activity. More, so much more, on that later!

But there are also things that are not so awesome about this place. Such as, really old plumbing and pipes and things. I just tried to use my washing machine, and something came loose and flooded my floors! I was able to stop the washer before my whole place flooded, but maintenance will need to come and fix this. I hope it’s just a simple matter of getting a new hose or even just reconnecting, but I can’t tell what’s going on back there. I can’t move the washer!

Anyway, it’s well past my bedtime. I’m thrilled to be working from home tomorrow.

I have missed you! Every time I log into prosebox there are about 100 entires I need to read! I am so behind.
