It’s been a while since I just answered some questions, so let’s see how this goes.
What are some of your favorite cities you’ve been to?
I’ll always love New Orleans & Paris, but Chiang Mai really is gorgeous.
Would you allow your children to date prior to 16?
This is such a hypothetical question and I can’t say that I have a proper answer because it would depend on my child’s temperament and whether or not I believed they were mature enough to handle it. Plus, my perspective on it now would probably be different after I had lived with this new individual for several years, and that person would probably change me, as well. So I have no answer for this because it’s impossible to answer.
Did you ever go through a phase where you thought guys in bands were ‘hot?’
I go through many phases when it comes to what I’m attracted to, but that is an evergreen phase, I always find guys in bands hot… but what changes is which band member I think is hot. Just recently I saw Panorama Panama Town in Bangkok and I randomly met the drummer and thought to myself, “If this were 20 years ago, I would think he is soooo hot” but then the band started playing, and the bass player was sooooo sexy to me. It’s a cycle.
What’s something about adult life you were never warned of or prepared for?
Oh any of it. And I think that the aimlessness is the thing that I’m most disturbed by.
Did your parents teach you proper table manners when you were growing up?
My grandparents were very hardcore about it. Still to this day, I do not put my elbows on the table because I flinch thinking I’m going to get a smack in the shin from my grandmother’s cane. This is also one of the reasons I hate eating in front of people, they look at me like I’m an alien.
What was the last thing you baked?
Baked? I suppose it was a quiche I made in 2022. I don’t bake too often.
Do you live more than 5 hours away from the nearest international border?
Well, would you look at that! I just Googled and it turns out, Cambodia is only 3 and a half hours away!
Does your town have a farmer’s market?
Are you kidding me? Bangkok is famous for its farmer’s markets. They’re great, and usually the quality of the fruits and vegetables are higher than grocery stores. But I still go to the stores because there are some American fruits I prefer (I cannot get into the variations of oranges they have in Thailand, so I go buy Valencia oranges from the store)
What’s the westernmost point you’ve been to?
I’ve been on a boat in the middle of the Pacific pretty close to the International Date Line, sooooooo…
What was the last restaurant you made a reservation at?
Oh, I always have make reservations at Le Café des Stagiaires because they’re so busy, but no matter how busy they are they always make room for me.
When did you last feel lonely?

Can you easily tell when others are masking their true emotions?
It depends on the person and whether or not I have any investment in why they might be masking their emotions. Most of the time, it’s none of my business.
How often do you wash your car?
I do no own a vehicle.

Bane asked me for cash in March.

Do you own a Dutch oven? If so, what was the last thing you cooked in it?
Yes, I cook casseroles in them for meal planning during heavy class schedules usually using leftovers from places I’ve eaten out at.
Do you find it easy to put yourself in somebody else’s shoes?
I suppose you could say I am compassionate and empathetic.
What is currently on your kitchen table?
I do not have a kitchen table.
What is your favourite time period in history to learn about?
I like just about any historical period.

Have you ever kissed a smoker?
Yes.
What is the minimum age to obtain a driver’s license in your state/country?
In California, I got my permit when I was 14… but I didn’t get my license until I was 19 even though I could have gotten it on my 16th birthday because even when I was younger, I hated driving. I don’t know what the age limit is in Thailand but I’ve seen 10 years olds driving motorbikes home from school.
Do you think this is an appropriate age, or should it be higher/lower?
I think all age restrictions are dubious for a multitude of reasons even though I understand why we have them
If you won the lottery, do you think any of your family members would ask you to give them some of your money?
They would expect it.
What is the craziest thing you’ve seen happen at your workplace?
I haven’t seen any of them, I’ve done them.
Do you own any home automation gadgets like wifi thermostats or wifi bulbs?
No because my house is not large enough to necessitate such luxuries.
What is something you gave up on after many failed attempts?
Connection.
How old were you when you started to seriously think about what career path you wanted to pursue?
I’m sure that will happen at some point… I’ve always just fallen into career paths without much thought on my part.
Have you ever disliked a book so much that you didn’t finish it?
Yes, but I cannot remember which books because they do not occupy space in my head.
Would you rather read a book, or listen to the audiobook?
I can’t listen to audiobooks, it’s much more challenging for me to concentrate or understand audio when it’s not coming from a person whom I can visually see.
Do you think tomorrow will be a better day than today?
Trying to classify days into bins of “good day” or “bad day” will lead one to nothing but unhappiness. Let it go.
