The wellness world pisses me off. It’s like we got stuck in a loop of just journal your cortisol away! Meanwhile, stress hormones are being pumped out like it’s a full-time job because of sleep disruption, blood sugar swings, gut inflammation, overtraining, and chronic undernourishment—not because someone forgot to wear their rose quartz bracelet. This isn’t a mindset issue it is a metabolic issue.

This time last year I was working with a naturopath who had me quit wheat, oats, soy, corn, most fruits, canola, and seed oils. I’ve reintroduced everything except wheat. That one is too painful to ingest now. I went almost five months without a single mood disorder symptom before I relapsed. I’m no longer working with that naturopath but I do have a dietitian that I am working with. A plant-based one. My naturopath wanted me to eat animals and their squirts. In two weeks I will tell her how I am restructuring my diet. I didn’t have her when I first quit it all. So far, I am just quitting seed oils and coffee. I am doing this because I want to reset my nervous system. I’m tired of being tired.

The elder from that workshop flipped the script on me. I don’t have dopamine (ADHD definition) because I don’t have room for it. My body is flooded with stress hormones. Lower the stress hormones and you will make room for dopamine. For the good hormones. This is what our spiritual practices supported. However, we have modern problems, and waving an eagle feather in my face isn’t going to fix them.

Health is the new salvation. Healthcare is the one world religion we were warned about. It’s a radicalized one that cannibalizes the cells and tissues of infants and is calls it inoculation. It isn’t supposed to be a journey. We are just supposed to live in a way that is natural to us. That’s it. That’s the assignment. Getting to that isn’t supposed to be the new meaning of life. We have a baseline. We are designed to thrive in our environments. We are not thriving. This isn’t self-help at this point. It is self-defense.
