Dying is the leading cause of death. in Whey and Sonic Screwdrivers.

That’s a line I use. It’s nonsensical, and it amuses me every time.

I got to thinking about it just now. What if the leading cause of death wasn’t dying? What if there was some sudden cause?

Thing is, short of a guillotine, sudden doesn’t exist. All causes of death have some level of dying.

Which made me realize:

We do not fear death.

We fear dying.
