When was the last time your heart skipped a beat?

When she came to visit in July, we walked down to the beach for something to do. We stood around, the three of us, and chatted for a while. On the walk back to the house, in the middle of the forested path, she abruptly turned, pulled me to her, and kissed me. Three things happened in that next moment, my heart fluttered, my knees turned to jelly, and I felt like I could simultaneously melt into a puddle of goo at her feet, or launch myself into the stratosphere with the energy that spark had set alight in me.
A few moments later, when she turned to M and kissed him, the joy I felt made me feel like I would explode into deflagration of cartoon hearts.
The three of us practically floated the rest of the way home.
