You kill it, we grill it!

There is a local magazine called Old Huntsville. They’re filled with stories of North Alabama history. One article in particular stood out to me. It was about growing up during the great depression. How people made do with what they had access to. It mentioned eating roadkill. Meat was a rare treat and most had gardens.

To most of us seeing a dead animal in the road might invoke feelings of sympathy but for those that are desperate it might mean their next meal.

A person will eat almost anything if they get hungry enough.
