Remember this show? Paul McCartney said that song was the most beautiful song ever written, and it does something for me here. I vaguely remember the plot, having watched it probably over a decade ago, but there is an unspecified skeleton of the show that lives in my memory- soul perhaps- as legend, or archetype.

I think I like the idea of polygamy. Not for me personally, I appreciate monogamy and a peaceful life, but for someone. The someone. The King. A single, dominant creature of strength and means who captures the bulk of the responsibilities and the spoils.

Something about the concept of severe imbalance and unfairness, based on arbitrary strengths & gifts at birth, turns me on. I think it activates some survival instinct in my brain. Some deep well of male to male competition. Like a reminder that we are all cogs in the Human Creature whose function it is to compete- to win or die trying- for the sake of evolving the Human Creature into something ever so slightly better.

There’s just always something beautiful about the place where need and resources meet.
