Calorie Experiment in Weight Loss Surgery

OK so from last Monday to now I’ve been tracking my food and water - but I haven’t really been “dieting”.

It turns out that I’ve eaten 15,219 calories in a week. And I gained 2 lbs. Going by the diet myth that subtracting 3500 cals a week makes you lose a lb - I’d have to subtract 7000 cals from last week just to maintain and subtract 10,500 cals a week to lose 1 lbs a week.

That would put me at 4719 cals a week, equaling 674 cals a day to lose one lb a week.

Siiiiince that is ridiculous, I’ll just subtract 3500 cals from the 15,219 I ate last week and see if that makes a dif on the scale. That would put me at 11,719 per week or 1674 cals a day - which is MUUUUUUCH more doable - although still a significant reduction for me.

by the way: HOW did I eat 15,219 cals a week in a shrunken stomach?

Probably chocolate covered almonds - my new obsession as well - as oreos at my parents house, apple pie from my sister, bagels with Will, lazy pasta dinners (by me) nachos at the movies and hot cocoa at work instead of sticking to 8 cups of water. protein shakes/snacks, tofu and cheese…

SO wish me luck on this week’s experimentation - where I eat around 1674 cals a week and hopefully lose a lb.

I need to find my “calories sweet spot” to get traction on this weight loss.

And by the way, this is all while not doing any sort of exercise. I know if I were to implement some regular exercise, I’d be able to eat more or lose faster but … I’m lazy…

Water is fine. You can always piss it out. Water weight goes fast and even helps to lose weight. I admire you for what you are doing with your weight and health!
