Mother’s Day
I actually gave her the gifts and card Friday and Saturday. Mom was very apprehensive about the procedure so I was trying to cheer her up and ease the worries.

We went to Dollar Tree to get some plastic flowers then rode out to the family plot to flower up the graves. So much family is now gone. Heartbreaking. I miss the Independence Day and Christmas gatherings.

After that we headed to the Jones Valley shopping center. I spent WAY too much money at Barnes & Noble, as usual. Off to Five Below to load up on candy then off to the theater to see the new Doctor Strange movie. Damn, I went in for a super hero film and left satisfied having seen a horror film. It was cool.

Finished the night off with a salad, sauteed shrooms and onions and a big steak. drool

Now to the fun stuff…
Work on Monday I was pulled off machining and thrown into clipping and sanding missile straps. We had 400 but needed an additional tree fiddy. Two of the other guys helped me both days.

We were truckin’ hard on Tuesday to finish. They needed to ship out tomorrow. Well, after finishing we found out we were 63 short. This was around 2 PM. We got more out of building C and had the engineer do a hardness test on them. We get off at 4:30. Yeah, all three of us completely lost our steam and screwed around for the rest of the day.

Wednesday morning I woke up and my right index finger was in excruciating pain. Knuckles were swollen and I couldn’t get a grip on anything without pain. Went to the walk-in clinic, paid $120 for the visit (f. u. American health system), and now have a diagnosis.

Arthritis.

It’s been around for a while and has gotten worse over the last year. Got a note for the rest of the week (which I had to go back and get another one today specifying limits and requirements for HR purposes) and have been wearing a compression glove since.

This.
Effing.
Blows.

My hands are my livelihood.

The future, it is bleak.
