My computer at work froze up on me after I spent hours on a spreadsheet that was making me insane in the first place. I decided to metaphorically walk away and write a quick entry to make myself sane again.
It’s my birthday month. That means I get the occasional “free gift” or special discount from retailers and restaurants for the month. They come via email or even snail mail. You know what I’m talking about - those little offers like a free Starbucks, or 50% off Kendra Scott jewelry, etc. I just opened up my personal email to a sweet offer from the restaurateur I went out with about five or six times a couple of years ago (before he ghosted me). He’s telling me to bring in the coupon for a FREE APPETIZER of my choice! I can’t remember what I named him. I even tried to look back at my previous entries and couldn’t figure out exactly when we went out. Oh well.
Wouldn’t it be funny if I did print out the coupon and brought it in to one of his locations and saw him? Wonder what he’d say. Happy Birthday? He also sends these coupons out for anniversaries too - I get one every August because Sexy Pants and I had our first date in one of his restaurants over ten years ago! I think we went back after we got engaged and filled out a form saying August 15th was our anniversary (again, because it was the date we met).
Weird memories, huh?
I did click back a bit in my PB and read a few entries from years past. I was reading back to some of my business travel and looking at some RADs and just remembering. And honestly, I’ve had an amazing life - so much fun! Such adventures!! I want to keep doing and seeing and going…
And so it makes sense that I’m apprehensive about tomorrow - the results of my CT scan are in and I have my two doctor appointments. First, at the cancer center with my oncologist and then later tomorrow morning with my PCP (my friend Jeff).
I need to be cancer-free. And I need that to be the case for a long, long time.
I am going to go now. I have a few more things to finish up before I get out of the office, but if I could just request some good juju…it would mean the world to me.
